Don't forget that one of his closest friends in the recruiting cycle is CJ Hampton.
Also, like you said, distance is not a factor. IT's about the same time travel to Oxford as is to Tuscaloosa.

I see what you're saying, although I don't agree. Mostly because you are assuming everyone on this board is just making up the fact that the coaches were rubbed the wrong way. There's no way for any of us to know 100% what's going through the mind of the coaches, but insiders and people close to the situation are the ones saying the coaches felt disrespected. While I can't disagree if you say they can't know for sure, they certainly know more than the average joe on this board.
Also, LSU was always recruiting Adams. In fact, just prior to Hootie's commitment insiders and recruiting gurus said that LSU and the staff was prepared to take both of them if they both wanted in. It just seemed as if once Hootie committed to Bama, that Adams began to be more receptive of the staffs pitch. According to people close to the situation, the staff was telling Adams that he is the priority No.1 at safety and a lot of people think this is what began to win him over. Add in the fact that a lot of people (including our staff according to people in the know) believe Adams is the better prospect, and the fact that Hootie's mother said some things that many believe to be completely untrue, and it's not that far fetched to believe the staff has cooled on Hootie due to the reasons stated above. Personally, I'm under the impression that if all of this is true about them being butthurt, it's not bad enough to where a simple phone call from Hootie wouldn't be able to allow the incident to be dropped immediately.
I honestly think that it's not totally impossible that the staff could've had Adams higher on the board prior to Hooies commitment, but felt they had a better shot at Hootie due to how Adams was responding to their efforts. But the point I'm trying to make is that while we (fans and a majority of the posters here) don't know exactly what's going on with Hootie and the staff, there are people who do and I think that's where the info about the staff being upset about Mrs. Jones comments is coming from.

Just lots of bad info and twisting of words really. I do agree that people are wrong by saying that LSU absolutely won't take Hootie's commitment if he wanted to give it, but at the same time there's some things that need to be hashed out before they do accept it.

Can we get a confirmed yes or no to the fact that Hootie is no longer an EE.
If he is I say LSU.
If not I am not sure. Just too many moving pieces.
And from where I stand I agree they both are two different type of safeties. We should get a pulse on Voorhies and Battle if both committed.

You want facts? I'll give you facts. LSU was contacted Wednesday and told that Hootie was interested in LSU. I'd say more than interested because if he wanted to go to Bama but just needed more time he could've done that without decommitting. Anyway, zero contact since Wednesday.

Without reading 60+ pages, what can anyone tell me about hootie

My post right above yours is all you need. Decommitted, contacted LSU, zero contact since.

the way it's written it seems like you are indicating that a 3rd party contacted LSU on Hooties behalf (and by 3rd party I mean someone other than Hootie or his parents/guardians).
Am I reading that correctly?

Not JJ27, and I respect his opinion on this board, but yes. The only thing I can add is, there HAS been contact since, from others not named Hootie Jones, to LSU's staff.
It won't work.
And I STILL think he'll be a Tiger in the end.

Not between Hootie and LSU. Not unless it happened this morning.

Yancy porter interviewed cj Hampton after he commited and said he had a three way call between hootie and jamal too discuss his decision.

The only thing we know for a fact is that Ole Miss is out, due to the SEC Championship game tweet.

I believe this board is strictly no trolling. I'm trying to bring in info

I sure hope something good comes from all this confusion, misinformation, and disinformation...lol
the way athletes are approached and dealt with needs to be refined by the staff. BTW, I once worked professionally training closers on high dollar items. I know things about psychology in the real world that many don't know. I'm talking about the decision-making process. Not bragging;just fact. The staff needs to do some tweaking of how they do the final stages of the closing process. jmho

Hootie called the coaches or was it some friend or family members?
What did the coaches say when he/they contacted LSU?
What do you make of the Patrick Peterson tweet? I took it as a sign that LSU was hard after Hootie, but who knows.
