Would help tremendously on our recruiting. Especially with the 2 QB, Narcisse and Brennan. Also would be a great style and hire to our offense. Geaux Tigers

So with no way to talk to Canada before Saturday, what then for Narcisse.

thanks for the insight

Brennan would be a lock IMO. Canada would be a home run

Coaches cannot contact recruits, but recruits are allowed to reach out to coaches. I'd like to think if we make a hire before Junior announces, he would certainly reach out to that coach before making a decision.

NSD is in early February. Why is this so hard to understand?

I doubt Canada would move the needle with our offensive recruits. If he even lands the job.
I doubt most recruits have even heard of him.
Unfortunately Akers and Narcisse won't be able to sit down and talk with him before they sign as early enrollees.
Ugly.

We won't hire the OC until after the bowl games. O said so.

Canada was one of five finalists, and the only offensive coordinator, for the Broyles Award, which goes to nation's top assistant coach.
Hopefully the recruits are paying closer attention than you. He'd be a homerun hire and perfect fit for our current roster and commits.

Now that Kiffin is out of the way, he may move faster now.

This is a hire that is both enough of a 'splash' and has the possibility of being for multiple years. I like.
He's nothing special on the recruiting trail, but just to be able to tell recruits "I'm here, and here's what we are going to be doing" is enough combined with a quality OC.

Purely negative conjecture on your part. Should the criteria for OC be simply name recognition? (How has that worked out for the country at large. But I digress.) If the man is qualified, and he sure appears to be, he'll convince recruits to come play for him.
I don't know if Narcisse and Akers are early - enrollees; if they are, as you say, then you have a valid point. If Orgeron can make the hire this week, that would be best.

Akers and Narcisse are early guys.
I'm not doubting Canada is a solid coach, but I follow college football as much as most on here and up until a few weeks ago I had never heard of Matt Canada. I'm willing to bet 95% of other posters hadn't either.
I would be shocked if Akers and Narcisse had.
Reporter- "So Cam would you rather play 4 years under Jimbo or Matt Canada?"
Cam- "Matt who?"
I hate it, but I think Akers may be leaning FSU now with LSU's lack of OC...and little time left. Narcisse obviously has 1 foot out the door.

Then they've been under a rock.

Akers knows what's up and would benefit tremendously from Canada being hired. Narcisse is gone, no hire is bringing him back. Fortunately Canada would likely lock in Brennan.
