I want SD but I also want to win. Timing is everything and with what Drew has coming in to Baylor I don't see how he would leave. I know I wouldn't. I think our class with gathers, Morgan, and Coleman will improve this team tremendously.

I'm not that hot on hiring Johnny, but if he comes in right off the bat switching Rico than he is coming in with momentum. It would be huge, but I'm not expecting it until I see what happens.
Also, a couple people have mentioned Bryce Drew. I'd think that is the only way to eliminate the possibility of signing Rico. Well, that or convincing Trent to stay.

Doubt Scott Drew is coming Baylor's whole bball program is going on probation and he might get a show-cause. Would love to have gotten him though...

There are a lot of unsigned/uncommitted players, especially junior college.
If this thing gets done, regardless of the hire, this year can still be salvaged.
I truly believe that, if there are no defections, and Coleman, Morgan and Hammink sign, along with a JUCO post or two, this team could still be good for next year.
Also, while I'm not convinced he's an SEC player, I would offer Dee Wagner. Without knowing what Hickey is going to do, LSU at least needs a backup plan at point guard. Of course, that is unless the new coach brings some recruits with him.

I don't think it's written in the Louisiana Civil Code that only Johnny Jones can hire Randy Livingston as an assistant.
Seems to me Randy Livingston is a no-brainer hire for any coach LSU would bring in. The only LSU basketball coach who WOULDN'T want Randy as an assistant is the guy we just packed off to TCU.

It's as much proof as you've provided that Gathers is flipping to a LSU coach who hasn't even been hired yet. I would think that Byrd has a pretty good shot at being able to pick Gathers' brain on this.

He said Gathers is 100% to Baylor, he said Drew would listen if LSU called, and he said Gathers goes to LSU only if Drew goes to LSU. Based on the low odds of Drew coming to LSU I'd say this isn't really contradictory.
