Gunner is making his announcement through TD

All kidding aside, is he actually making an announcement today? Or is it just speculation that he's "deciding" today?

Haven't been keeping up with this

He's supposed to decide before Christmas. So either today or tomorrow seems very likely.

Sounds like an equally futile discussion, imo.

QB Gunner Kiel reiterates he is still undecided

Chris Emma of FoxSports/Scout.com just tweeted. Said decision could come any day this week (doesn't leave many left!)

Seriously?
FWIW, if the players think the screaming and humiliation is too much, I think things work themselves out on their own. (ie recruits stop coming, losses pile up, jobs gets lost)....

It would be interesting to see if Kelly's out-of-control berating of his QB's played a role in the Kiels' decision -- directing Gunner to the SEC. While my intuition agrees with you that some recruits are pushed away by the behavior of these petty tyrants, some conditioned athletes are attracted to it; Saban the Ranter continues to recruit well and win -- and he actually spanked a kid on national TV. As another poster said, football "culture" permits it. My question is, why? No authentic teacher uses humiliation as a teaching tool. No other profession tolerates it. There is a reason why it is socially unacceptable.

The linked thread explores this from that broader perspective. As you pointed out, we find examples of these anger-management-challenged coaches at all levels. Those guys are not manly, they are neurotic. It behooves us to reconsider the acceptability of the unacceptable in the context of coaching and raise awareness that people like that need serious counseling. And we need to keep them away from our children.

The question is do you have your fingers crossed when you tell us you have sources on Landon Collins!

Kind of tough to apply normal social behaviors to the football field. Its not normal to knock someone on their arse in society, but is acceptable in football.

Maybe he'll show up at Barkley's announcement this afternoon and share the mic.
