People on this board really are dipshits when it comes to LC. If they only knew.

Keil/Randall controversy in a couple years. Mett has got the job for sure next year and the year after if he doesn't go pro and does as well as expected next year. Miles loves him some experience, for good reason too.

No, but we have a damn good stable of QBs and competition.

Seems Miles has learned his mistakes that crippled us a few years ago.

Recruit QBs and Oline every year. Have at least 4 QBs on ship at all times.

You have to think Mettenberger can leave next year with a good season...gotta be prepared for that. Not to mention a injury or attrition could really devastate QB next year without taking someone from this class.

-Obviously not knowing how any recruit will pan out once he gets here, on paper would Kiel be one of - if not the - biggest recruiting coup in LSU history?

Peterson was pretty big, taking a top DB out of the state of Florida. Getting RP to flip after committing to Texas was pretty big, but he was Louisiana.

This might be bigger - #1 QB, a Notre Dame legacy (via Uncle Blair as someone adroitly pointed out earlier) - it will certainly rank up there.

Gunner would be one of the biggest recruiting coups in Miles' hat since coming to LSU.

When you take into account the publicity LSUs offense and its QB play has gotten for the majority of the last 3 years, for LSU to go out and land a top rated QB from freaking Indiana is a pretty big coup IMO.

I agree completely. I was just listing on paper ratings for perspective.

I'll even go further and say getting the top QB from OOS helps LSU's image more than the PP7 OOS coup, because Great QB >>> Great DB in people's minds.

Since I retweeted Gino's prediction, I've gotten tweets from 'Huskers, Gumps, & Sooners saying LSU would be crazy scary with a real QB.

So Keil is coming to LSU? Or is it all just people "acting" like they know inside info?

PP7 was an absolute can't miss prospect. Everyone wanted him. While Kiel is the #1 QB prospect this year, and most teams would take him, PP7 is still greater: From Miami, Da U was making a comeback at that point, Florida was rolling, USCw was rolling, FSU still had Bowden, etc.

PP7 was the greatest coup in recent memory and cemented Miles' ability to sign big time OOS prospects.

Recent post from Wiltfong on 24/7 free board:

"I'm not predicting Kiel to LSU, just feel they may have some momentum. I wouldn't be surprised if he picked any of his three finalists. The thing is, Kiel has not made up his mind. Anyone that says they know where he's going is guessing or speculating. If Kiel knew where he was going, he'd be committed. Perhaps he has a leader of the three, but he isn't ready to pull the trigger. He could still very well end up at Notre Dame or Vanderbilt."
