LSU being chanted by student body as Kiel attended basketball game this evening.

From the article: Columbus North-Columbus East boys basketball game, said he wanted to make an announcement at the game, but “couldn’t make a decision.”
Sounds like he really is torn. My worthless guess is that he was thinking of announcing for ND, but when the students started chanting LSU, he backed off.

The guy who originally tweeted that is an Indianapolis Star reporter. Kyle Neddenriep

Oh just great! Just what we need. A QB who's indecisive...

You seam to have it backwards. He should not feel any trepidation to announce ND

Or maybe he was planning on announcing, the students thought thats where he was going, but he couldn't pull the trigger because he hadn't notified each staff yet?

thats plausible but who knows?
i will say the columbus east area is more pro Purdue and Indiana then they are pro-ND, so most of those kids are not going to be on NDs side.
it'd be like ULL fans cheering for LSU when we all know they suffer an inferiority complex.

I don't think southern Indiana is ND country. They are typically Hoosier fans, and they actually hate ND. That could be why they were chanting LSU.

Probably means that he was going to chose LSU, which the student body knew, but decided not to. That could be a bad thing...

I really think it just means, leading up to the event he wanted to announce there, but was never able to make a final decision. So he decided not to announce during the event. I seriously doubt anything changed while he was at the event.

Why not Vandy then? I just think don't think that they would cheer for a team that they had no stake in unless they were supporting Kiel's choice.

Latest on Gunner Kiel: plans to have decision by Christmas
Highly-sought Columbus East senior quarterback Gunner Kiel said he plans to have a college decision made by Christmas, with LSU, Notre Dame or Vanderbilt the likely finalists competing for his services.
Kiel, who accepted the Indianapolis Star Indiana Mr. Football trophy at Tuesday’s Columbus North-Columbus East boys basketball game, said he wanted to make an announcement at the game, but “couldn’t make a decision.”
“It’ll be a gut feeling,” said Kiel, who was at one time committed to Indiana. “It’s been a very hard decision.”
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Kiel passed for 2,517 yards and 28 touchdowns as a senior and rushed for 482 yards and 11 TDs.
Kiel said he has no more college visits planned and that he’d “sit down with my family and make a decision soon.” Columbus East students chanted “LSU” as Kiel accepted the trophy.
