My fellow sage bibliophiles have called me to note that Gump is now in the Encyclopedia Britanica and Ancestry.com (that's right there are people with the last name Gump in the USA). Ancestry says they are mostly truck drivers and farmers - who would have thunk it.

In light of the spreading of the notion world-wide, here are more potential entries into the cult:

Gumpcation - a visit to a goat petting farm and staying overnight
Gump humper- see above
Gump 5-star meal - road-kill with gravy
Entering Gumpland - state sign at Georgia/Mississippi/Tennessee state
lines (Auburn counties excluded)
Gumpland express - Greyhound competitor
Platinum Gumposcopy - 6th colonoscopy and the enjoyment
Gump datenight - Willie and the boys discussing diesel engines
