We're big fans, on here daily. But I try to be hopeful.
Some of the games under Miles really tried me, but that is the past. There is a lot to be hopeful for, but I am tempering my expectations on the tough schedule and the lack of experience on the offense.

That doesn't make sense. If a top recruit has high interest in LSU they need to see his recruitment to the end.
But they do need to work on some other QBs as well. I think O and his staff have a tendency to have tunnel vision with recruits. If we have an A-rated QB and a B+ QB as well, that's probably part of a great class.
If we miss out on Gunnell then we still have the B+ guy. I just hope they don't do what they did with Surtain, stiff arm guys that want to commit because they have tunnel vision with Gunnell. We need two QBs in this class anyway given that Narcisse and/or McMillian is likely out of here next year.

Gunnell doesn’t seem to fit Urban’s system for what he’s looking for in a QB. Seems like y’all usually have a mobile guy at QB. That would be a surprise for sure.

You sound like you have some inside info to say that so absolutely. Spill the beans. Give us a hint at least. You're his next door neighbor, or his boyfriend, or High school coach?
This is the kinds of posters we need more of on this board that actually come here with real info and inside knowledge of what is going on. We get a lot of "fans" just coming on here with "opinions" but not enough real "experts" with the inside "scoup" like tigersmack1!

yes, especially when someone is not just stating a opinion. He said "gunnel is not coming here" that would be as dumb as someone with no inside knowledge saying "Gunnel is coming here". So when you have real inside knowledge of the situation, like Tigersmack1 obviously does, you shouldn't be knocked for stating a fact like that. Obviously Gunnell told tigersmack1 (or someone he trusts who he very tight with) "I am not going to LSU"
So pack up the bags. Stop wasting time on a recruit who has made up his mind that he has absolutely no intention of going to LSU and start focusing on other QB's that we might possibly have a chance at.

offense is evolving a bit under influence of kevin wilson and ryan day. whoever ends up starting this year is not going to run the ball 20 times a game, ala tim tebow or jt barrett.

Are we going to get everyone we recruit? No, hell, Alabama doesn't get everyone they recruit (and if they didn't get Surtain, they would have had a much worse NSD than we did), but at least bring some sort of substance rather than waste space on this board with a "He's not coming here" and just leave

According to 24/7: QB's are at the top and there are probably a bunch that 24/7 is not aware of.

Every year the media harps on a player for a spot and out of the blue LSU signs someone else. They are only surprise commits to the "experts" the coaches are not surprised and have been recruiting the player(s) for a while.
