I don't believe that for a second. A position that has plagued LSU for years and we gonna skip signing a QB for the second year in a row? No chance at that happening

I think that poster is making crap up to try to feel important. Not signing a QB two classes in a row makes zero sense. Burrow coming has zero to do with needing QBs in this signing class. My personal opinion is that they should take two in this class. Not taking 1 would be insane.

I agree. That would be monumentally stupid. I also don't buy some indication that Finley has been given some promise that he'll be set up to start as a FR. Unless he blows it up in 2018 I haven't seen enough on his film to tell me he can step in as a FR and start against SEC defenses. If he's willing to compete against our current roster and a potential 2019 signee or two then great.

He is just getting that from a quote in a 247 article. Finley's dad said that they were told by Orgeron that LSU wasn't going to have a QB in the 19 class since we got Burrow.
I don't think that holds up, but he isn't making up that it's floating around.

It makes zero sense that LSU would not sign a QB in 2019 because Burrow is here now. They barely overlap.
It also makes zero sense that you don't sign a QB in 2019 because of a QB commit in 2020.
Let's look at worst case scenario.
- McMillan transfers.
- Burrow has a great season and gets drafted.
- Now we have MB and LN. One of them loses the battle and transfers.
We now have 1 QB because we didn't sign a single one two seasons in a row? Then signing day of 2020 is a LONG way away. No guarantee this kid sticks with LSU.
This is a worst case scenario. Not saying that it plays out that way, but even just a few of those things happen, then LSU is once again in a horrible spot at the QB position. Regardless how much, or little, faith I have in this coaching staff, there is no way they would be that foolish.

Yep. And it's very concerning if Finley's dad really said this. Either there was a major miscommunication between him and the staff, or he's playing some kind of game here.
I'm really not holding out any hope that his recruiting process is over and that it won't be filled with lots and lots of drama

I try to avoid being negative on the RB especially when it's specifically relating to recruits, but dad needs to keep his trap shut.

I agree with this, but somehow we need to determine if his statement is true or not? If O did say this to them, then this looks bad on our coaches. If O didn't say this, but there was some confusion that made him think this, then it looks bad for our entire program because other kids might believe it.

Coach O didn’t say they weren’t taking a QB simply because no one knows how this class will shake out. If Gunnel came back to LSU and wanted to commit we aren’t turning him away for some 2020 QB. Things may still play out with Quad as well.
