Tyson Jackson was a late bloomer also.
Tyson was dominant and huge throughout high school. The strength and condition program at LSU changed his body. He was soft in high school as far as build, but was always very good. I think playing at a small school made Quinn and Tyson get noticed late. The small school was the biggest factor not that he was a late bloomer.

You are right, I confused late bloomers and louisiana small school players not getting noticed. Tyson and Quinn were 2 or 3 star players because of small schools. Somehow, Saban overlooked Tracy Porter and let him go to Indiana. It takes some serious work to find these diamonds in the rough. I think having a guy like Frank Wilson who is so familiar with Louisiana and the High School coaches will help find some of these guys.

That's one that I don't understand. Didn't his dad play for LSU? Wasn't he from just across the river. I mean, hindsight is 20/20, but it seems like you look at kids with pedigree first.
Although, I guess Saban learned his lesson about looking for kids with pedigree, since he recruited a former Mich St WR's kid to play running back for him, and that's worked out pretty well.

we seem to be recruiting a lot of "under the radar" types lately.....

Under the recruiting services radar or under the college coaches radar. I don't quite understand how the recruiting services can break down Hundreds of thousands of high school seniors and be close to being perfect. There is no doubt that they get it right on many kids, but they miss on probably just as many as they get right if not miss on more kids.
Anyone have any highlights of Frankie Jackson, I would love to see some video.

this kid is not a back up...he has the potential to be a hell of a player...under the radar kinda guy......
so more than likely he will end-up at Ole Miss or another SEC school and make our defense look silly one day.

the thing is, which i hate, is that we offer them early.
my biggest pet peeve is offering questionable kids early when u have kids like Jackson tear up their SR year and become offer worthy. Then at that point, we are limited to who we offer.

Total 240 yds last night, fumbled six inches before crossing the goal line on a two point conversion attempt in OT to win the game....his second fumble this year. No one touched him. He lost the game. Every one felt badly for him.

That's impressive enough right there.
