freshman Antonio Alfano #1 DE from the 2019 class could be transferring out of alabama. Seems that his grandmother is very sick so i doubt he would have any interest in going anywhere besides close to home which is in new jersey

Hope the kid’s family is gonna be okay, but it’s still great to see bama lose a great talent like him

This will be interesting. Only 1-A school in Jersey is Rutgers, right? They're horrible, so does he go there, maybe Syracuse? Penn State typically gets the top notch guys from that region.

He will be Penn State bound. Hell of a player I’m happy he won’t a problem we have to worry about.

Some Power 5 schools around his hometown - Colonia, NJ

Rutgers is about 20 min
Maryland is about 4 hr
Penn State is about 4 hr
Syracuse is about 4 hr
Boston College is about 5 hr
Pittsburgh is about 5.5 hr
West Virginia is about 5.5 hr
Virginia is about 6 hr
Ohio State is about 8 hr

His hometown is very strangely centrally located

NCAA works in mysterious ways...

Conventional wisdom would say that if he's transferring to be near an ill loved one, Rutgers would be the only place he'd be allowed to transfer and be immediately eligible. But, we've seen stranger things happen.

If he leaves and Sopsher busts, all of a sudden that Bama D Line haul from last year is solid, but not elite at all.

Holy shite -- he was absolutely unblockable in high school.

I was so pissed he went to Alabama and glad to see him leave. Sucks about his grandmother though.

I hate that he has a family member sick but I don’t hate not having to play this kid for 4 years. He was wrecking dudes in the all American game.

I hope his grandmother makes a speedy and full recovery.

I was watching that game just thinking about this kid destroying us for years. One of the best, if not the best, practice and game performances I've ever seen from a DL at the UA Game.

Absolute monster.

Also, this makes it seem like he's staying put:

I think there's more to the story than a sick grandmother.

Agreed, but Stingley should have been #1 and has demonstrated why.

I think Sting is a generational talent and won't argue his merits for being #1, but an unblockable DE is second only to a good QB as the most valuable asset in football.

This guy was treating 5* OTs like middle schoolers in those drills and in the game. I was thinking "this guy will be the #1 overall pick" when I was watching it.

Appears, after reading more about this from Bama fans, that he has a shite work ethic though and is using his grandmother as an excuse for missing camp and practices. What a waste.

I think the value projections should be left to the NFL after 3-4 years of college ball. Rank college prospects based on how they project as college players. Just my opinion though.
