Unfortunately, much of our lesser-informed fan base's image of a "dual threat" QB is forever tarnished.
In all honesty, I'll take a Dual Threat guy over a Pro Style guy 9/10 times. Having that ability to run is such a dangerous trait.

But if they want to go into the NFL they go elsewhere even though LSU is WRU
This make 0 sense. You are saying LSU is WRU but if they want to play in the NFL they go elsewhere

Thread is confusing
Hard to follow what OP is saying.
Why would a 5* WR want to play with a dual threat QB who can get them single coverage, help in the play-action game, and pass accurately?
We shouldn't hope for LF because we want a DT QB?
WR's shouldn't come here if they want to go to the NFL even though LSU is WRU?
Whatever you mean, of course 5*WR's want to play with a DT QB. Go ask RGIII's, Cam's, Russel Wilson's, or Kaepernick's WR's. Better yet, check the aTm haul this year at WR while having a DT QB.

I'm sure the wrs that played with RGIII, cam newton, tebow and guys like that all really hated winning a ton of games

I don't you understand football if you think a good RB hurts the WR position

Just give us someone with some pocket awareness and the ability to move in it. If he can hurt a Defense by being able to run for yards, that's a great bonus too.

The new definition of Dual Threat QB. Based on the old definition, our fans thought DT QB meant running QB only. They should make that a new category so folks know how to distinguish.

good post but the it still lingers in most peoples heads that we quite possibly had the worst Quarterback in the history of college football start for LSU for three years and he was "considered" a dual threat for some odd particular reason...the guy couldnt throw to save his life, And I thought he was a terrible runner as well. looked like a mentally retarded gazelle...
so when most think dual threat here in LA, we think oh god not this crap again...Im sure most of us would love to have the guys on your list.. (esp Kapernick)but we dont seem to make great decisions with Dual threat QB's (alas Bench R. Sheperd, but start a guy like JJ..)

"Dual Threat" does not mean "Jordan Jefferson" necessarily.

Completely agree. Les and Cam are not recruiting wishbone style QBs. They are recruiting guys who have mobility. 99.9% of dual threat QBs would rather throw the ball first and make plays with their feet when they have too.

Passing accuracy AND the ability to avoid the intense rush of opposing defenses in the SEC is an essential need in the performance of SEC QB's. Call them dual threat, pro-style, or what ever you wish. If there is a potential recruit (especially in-state) which can feasibly fit this mold----pursue the recruit.

And LF will open up a passing game like no other.
We thought that would be the case with JJ and Mett.
