See below in bold. We must be getting some new secondary coaches soon...

“It was a great visit and a great atmosphere as always,” Bussey told On3. “It was great all around and an amazing visit for me.”

LSU WR coach Cortez Hankton is leading the charge for the Tigers, who are continuing to press for Bussey.

The Early Signing Period in December is two months out. Hankton and Co. are intent on changing Bussey’s mind.

“I always have a good experience whenever I’m there! It’s a vibe in Baton Rouge,” Bussey said. “I talk to the staff every day, and I still have a great relationship with them and it’s building.”

Can you elaborate? No mention of any defensive coaches. Are you saying that Bussey is a DB 100%?

The fact that Hankton is taking over the recruitment over Cooks seems telling to me. But I could be completely reading it wrong

Well, there's really nothing you can or should do if you're Brian Kelly other than keep the defensive staff together through the end of the year with signing day 12/20 and hopefully a NY6 game a week after. So hopefully we play our cards close to get guys on board, and hopefully Kelly is more involved in recruiting to soften the blow of nuking the staff.

This gives me some hope. But yeah I’ll believe when I see it.

Crown, you are much more dialed in to the recruiting world than I am, but could it be that Hankton is the lead recruiter for that geographical area? Sometimes on the recruiting sites I see that the lead recruiter for a given recruit is not always his position coach.

Bussey spent time with both staffs(offense and defense) on his OV.

From what I can tell looking at On3 he's really just tied to the WR position and doesn't matter where they're located. I can also see that he isn't tied to any other DB's committed to LSU.

Primary recruiters don't necessarily have to be their position. Especially since he's an athlete

Could just be he wants to play offense or both ways and they're using Hankton to sell him on that.

But we all know that he's going to play DB at LSU and not offense. Not saying I am right and even the 247 and On3 primary/secondary could even be wrong.

I really hope that he plays offense man this kid is electric. Just everything I see is that LSU wants him at DB. Guess it could be like a Devin White situation?

yea of course he'll play DB, but they might be talking to him about certain packages at WR. use him like we do Nabers on swing plays. And maybe that's why Hankton is involved
