Boutte tore shite up last night in the UA Game. I hadn't seen much actual film on him. Mainly just a highlight video, but watching him play in the game last night made me feel perfectly ok with missing on Jarrett and Burton. I say that with the caveat that those two spots get filled with a needed open position. Either way Boutte is gonna be unreal at LSU.

5 of the top 9 players, currently, next year in Louisiana are WR. We already have a commit from a WR in Miss and have offers out to 8 of the top 10 WR in the country.

Why take a WR that is not a 5* when we will have 9 WR on the roster next year presuming Jefferson goes pro?

The two we signed look very promising.

O has been quoted numerous times as saying that the WR's actually catching the ball (and the decrease in drops) have a lot to do with our success this year, a the 77% competition percentage.

Why is this important? Because the guys catching everything this year were the same ones with the drops last year. A year longer in the system, a year longer to get stronger, and a year longer to get reps made all the difference (as well as the coaching).

So, if that pattern worked well for them, then this is the year we need more WR's.

We will have to just agree to disagree. You made the comment of Marshall and Chase really benefiting from one year in the system and while I agree with you to a certain extent, I think their juice in their sophomore year came much more from Brady's coaching and scheme. Remember they, just like the others on offense, essentially learned an entirely new offense over the summer. Boutte and all the others will be in the same position come spring. I get your concern I really do. I just don't think a WR is a must over the majority of the guys we are going after.

Ok, agree to disagree.

My final:

1. Jackson
2. WR
3. RB
4. OL - Crawford/Jackson/ or best one they can land

For the 5th spot, the best available player they can get at WR, OL, QB, or DB.

Burch will compromise with his mom and end up at Georgia.

It's probably been said before, but just for the sake of completeness and just in case anyone was wondering...

Boutte is a very special talent. Can compare all the physical measurements you want (or the ratings services), when he puts on the pads and plays it is plainly obvious he's one of the best 2 WRs nationwide in this class. I don't want to use cliches like 'generational talent' or anything, but he's got everything you need to possibly be the best WR in the nation productivity wise in 2 years.

CamRon Jackson, though he might be a grayshirt.

He tweeted the other day they are going to let him sign in February. I guess he has his grades.

I do not think Lee is anywhere near the level of Chase and Marshall,

How do you know? Jefferson was the lowest-ranked WR coming out of high school, while Lee was a high four-star. The reports I have heard is he has terrific hands and just needs to wait for his turn.

I also heard that Jaray Jenkins will also be very good when his turn comes too. As both of those guys would be starting for other teams if they were not at LSU.
