and now Colin Simmons.

He hasn't announced yet.

Our fans are in pre-melt, which is even more embarrassing.

Seriously, yall need to quit losing your shite over a high school recruit that hasn't even announced yet, much less signed his LOI. I cannot even begin to fathom how yall handle real crisis in your lives.

I agree on everyone but this. It's just a fact that every once in a while you're going to lose a highly touted prospect at WR from Louisiana. We put out so damn many that you can't take them all.

I know this sounds like hyperbole but you could seriously make a case that in 2019, Smith was the 7 best WR on the field in that LSU-Bama game. It is what it is.

Smith would barely play if he were on the same team as JJ and Chase.

I got a little carried away and looked at all the teams who showed up in the top 10 on the 247 composite from 2014 to 2023. I used the average from 2014-2022 and ranked them from best to worst average. 19 teams total, here are the results. Note that 4 teams have made the CFP who are not on this list. Cincinnati, Michigan State, Washington, and TCU. TCU is the only one of those to win a CFP game.

My take away, recruiting matters but so does coaching. And no team has underperformed like aTm

1. Bama - 2014-2022 Average 1.67, Best 1, Worst 5, 2023 1
.
2. Georgia - 2014-2022 Average 3.78, Best 1, Worst 8, 2023 2
.
3. Ohio State - 2014-2022 Average 4.78, Best 2, Worst 14, 2023 4
.
4. LSU - 2014-2022 Average 6.11, Best 2, Worst 15, 2023 6
.
5. Texas A&M - 2014-2022 Average 9.22, Best 1, Worst 18, 2023 15
.
6. Clemson - 2014-2022 Average 9.67, Best 3, Worst 16, 2023 11
.
7. Texas - 2014-2022 Average 10.33, Best 3, Worst 25, 2023 3

11. Florida State - 2014-2022 Average 12.22, Best 3, Worst 23, 2023 19
.
12. Florida - 2014-2022 Average 12.78, Best 9, Worst 21, 2023 13
.
13. Tennessee - 2014-2022 Average 14, Best 4, Worst 22, 2023 10
.
14. Michigan - 2014-2022 Average 14.67, Best 5, Worst 37, 2023 17
.
15. Penn State - 2014-2022 Average 14.78, Best 6, Worst 24, 2023 14
.
16. Oregon - 2014-2022 Average 14.89, Best 6, Worst 27, 2023 9

It makes sense because NIL is public and they don’t want that pressure on him. But you’re a fool if you think he went there without getting something.

You are a fool if you think the Mannings need NIL. He will get paid. When he’s the starter.

I just hate how it seems that we have to work our butts off to get a 5-star instate/out of state recruit to come here, but the Alabama's, Georgia's and somewhat to a degree Texas A&M seem to just snap their fingers and get the instate AND out of state 5 stars with ease.

That's at least to me the way it feels

Year to year nobody is on Uga,Alabama,or Osu level. Lsu has never signed 5 5stars in a cycle. If we can do that and get the underrated louisiana players to will be top 3 program consistently in a America. Texas A&m has the wrong coach plain and simple.

lol looks like you’re bad at reading comprehension. NIL is an afterthought in the world of Texas oilfield money. Guess who’s daddy got a nice kushy job at one of those oilfield companies? Of course he doesn’t need NIL when his dad is making more money in Texas. Now go back and put your head up your arse where it belongs

Are you drunk? Since 2019 we have had a top 5 class every year except last year and our overall with the portal our class was 7th with a brand new coach. Let’s just face the music an accept the fact that this NIL shite is not great for LSU. Most of the money is going to the elite talent so it’s going to spread the elite talent around to schools with shite piles of cash. If it wasn’t for money Texas and Texas A&M would not be signing elite classes which makes it pretty obvious what is driving recruiting and recruits these days. So with that being said we need to be happy with signing 2 or so 5 stars and locking down Louisiana because I’ll take the right 3-4 star from New Orleans over a 5 star from Wisconsin any day of the week. If we want to win titles we have to be the portal kings, recruit in the top 7 or so classes every year, and lock down the state. We aren’t signing a number 1 high school only recruiting class when you can pay players
