Hey guys. For the record I think Landon is coming, and if he doesn't I wish him the best. We're the best team in the nation by a lot, and if on the off chance he doesn't want to compete/feels more comfortable elsewhere we can't not respect his decision.

If we're spurned a la McKnight do you think the reaction from Tiger nation would be the same. We CLEARLY can't say we didn't want him, or he's not that good. I think things were a lot more raw with McKnight because the state was just getting over and trying to recover from Katrina, so it stung a little.

To be clear, I think we're going to get him. I can't see a boy from 20 minutes down the road turn his back on the greatest home team there ever was. For his position, they don't get ANY better than Ron Cooper and John Chavis, and Landon is reported to be a great young man and member of the Dutchtown community.

I can't envision that next year he won't be wearing a #2 purple and gold uniform, learning behind the great Eric Reid and splitting time with Loston. I just wonder that on the extremely off chance that he doesn't join the good guys how much flack he'd get, and if his family would leave the state and the rest?

I think the fact that he's announcing his intention at the UA game with Avery helps us, and the fact that it's before NSD puts the Tigers FIRMLY in the drivers seat, and I'm excited to add such a quality young man to the LSU family.

Minor fallout if any. Safeties fall from trees in LA.

I hope the days of freaking out if a player does not come here are long gone. If you are from the boot and are offered by LSU I hope you come, but if you don't, see you later we'll just plug somebody else in.

At this point, if any La kid turns down LSU, I'll just point and laugh at him, watch LSU sign a top 10 class and continue to win 10 games every year, while he wollers in mediocrity elsewhere like his predecessors

Dead on. And I will say this. The players who have other offers and don't go to LSU all suck, maybe except Lacy.

Janzen Jackson - someone's girlfriend in Angola soon
Luther Davis - Sucks
Robbie Green - Roids
Darrington Sentimore - Processed
McKnight - 3rd overall in high school to a 5th round pick

If they don't come to LSU, it's their loss. I don't believe in criticizing a teenager for making a choice about their lives though. We all have free will, and Lord knows I've made my share of mistakes. While it would be awesome to be a 5 star recruit, I think I would have to commit super early to take the pressure off. I don't envy the lives of these guys forced to grow up way too quick.

Getting away from home is tough. Its hard to do, and maintain a level of support. You can see lists of very talented kids that left, and never really showed their potential(its more than a physical thing). I doubt Landon leaves the state. While he's high on Bama, right now, it will be harder and harder to leave, when the time to decide is upon him, esp. from all his friends and relatives....just too hard.

Agreed that I think he'll come. If he doesn't, he's Tigerbait for the rest of his life.

If we don't get Collins we look at Deon Bush or Tracy Howard

Agree, which is why you don't hear this angle much. I think the coaches know where they stand. I really think its a done deal.

Dang, I didn't even know we were in the running for Deon Bush or Tracy Howard. I thought Bush was deciding between Auburn and Bama.

I don't think there would be a major meltdown certainly not to the McKnight level. Of course there will be the idiots that spout off for a few days but overall it will go over fairly smooth. I wouldn't be suprised if his GF caught hell though. Not fair but people will jump on the easiest target and reason to make themselves feel better about him getting away.

If we win a NC, little to none. Collins is the best player in Louisiana this year, and is a GREAT one, but is not a program changer or maker. I certainly hope he chooses LSU though. I definitely see him leaving here a great one.

It will mean Saban and Alabama rule over LSU even if we may have beaten them twice this season. We will know our worst fears have come to fruition and it's time to hide our womenfolk.

Fireballs will fall from the sky like hail and the sun will disappear. The grass in our yards will die, our cable will cease to function and our cats will run away.

I'd give my left nut to wear Purple-and-Gold, live in Kirby Smith and get laid by Golden Girls every night. I can't accept any other kid from Louisiana not feeling the same way.

Seriously, it will hurt a little but LSU Football will be fine and those of us that pull for The Tigers will get over it too.

I sure hope Collins becomes a Tiger so there won't be any gnashing of teeth or anything like that.

Some don't come because they are scared of competition and competition brings out the best.

Landon will be at lsu anyways.

Since Randle plays offense and Collins plays defense, they can both wear #2.

It will hurt bad, but LSU is on top without one player..

With that said, Les Miles will land him.
