If you sign a prospect now and he does not qualify, you lose the spot and can't get it back.

You need to get the prospect to wait and sign later in the semester when you have a better feel for if they will indeed qualify, you don't lose the spot if you have both LSU and the prospect wait to sign later (this is what Justin Jefferson did)

With this you can see where your numbers are without losing any spots.

Then if a kid doesn't qualify you can go for a grad transfer.

That being said this would be the current situations we have with Crawford and Camron Jackson academically by just getting them to sign later.

Alex Adams WILL qualify.

Meaning this gives us the flexibility to go all in on Burch and Mckinley Jackson momentarily. Then you have a safety net as well with the grad transfer market/transfer portal.

We are in a good spot right now to finish this class out very solid.

Thanks for the info.

If my understanding is correct, say we use all 25 spots with guys who are already eligible, CamRon and/or another guy isn’t, they could potentially greyshirt still?

I could be wrong but I think the plan is to keep a spot open in the summer for either CamRon or a transfer. They may end up with 2 open spots and only sign 23 next week.

Has Adams been confirmed?

Good for him, if so. Usually guys who get downgraded for academics don’t get eligible so quickly.

Yes, I think Camron is expected to be a tiger via greyshirt if need be. Unsure of Crawfords situation. Adams is confirmed and is why they accepted a commitment, supposedly his academics are in order.

Crawfords situation may depend on if we land Burch.

No. Crawford has a spot unless his grades don't work out. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't sign but announced and then we wait to see if he qualifies. Protects the spot. Kid hasn't visited anywhere else in a long time.
Jackson and Burch are in if they want in no matter anyone else.
Camron is a kid that's willing to grayshirt but also go with the plan of grayshirting until a spot is open assuming he qualifies.
We have all the spots we need to take whomever we want.

I have never seen an explanation for Lorando Johnson the CB. Does LSU not want him anymore...he doesn't want to go to LSU anymore...has 0% chance of qualifying in the near future, etc. All I have seen is a bunch of 'Lorando Johnson ain't coming to LSU" which might be a fact but 0 explanation. Thanks if you know anything about him.

From everything I have gathered we have moved on from L Johnson. Academics are questionable and not worth risking holding a spot for him. The belief is the staff has shifted the board and the need for that corner is no longer necessity. Given D McGlotherins versatility to possibly play safety that solidified his spot.
