I'm no recruiting guru and was wondering how A&M can sign like 34 last year and other schools can do it. With LSU losing like 7 or 8 underclassmen to the draft wouldnt that open more slots to this years class? unless they give those spots to walkons or early enrollees correct? i'd love to sign like 30 to this class but it doesnt seem likely.

I get kind of confused on this, too, but in general, you can have 25 report for fall camp. But you can have more count back to the previous class if they are early enrollees and you used less than your 25 allotment the last class.

You sure? We need need lots of juniors declaring or players transferring out. Only like 10-12 scholarship seniors. I can only see like 5-8 juniors declaring

25 players per signing period.
You can back count players if and only if, they enroll early, you did not use your full allotment of counters in the previous year's signing class AND you have room for them under the 85 limit when they enroll.
A&M, for example, had only 16 counters from their 2012 class (they signed 19 that year but had three back count to 2011 when they only signed 22). They signed 34 and had 9 of those players enroll early and actually count towards the 2012 class.

You can have 85 on scholarship. Those that sign 25 a year have to let somebody go to make room, then you get into ethical issues.
