I last looked at ESPN and their Team Rankings at I guess 4pm yesterday and UF was like #6 and then without any changes to their class of my knowledge they drop to #12? Its clear ESPN doesn't use a point system and they just kind of rank it how they see fit, but you think they dropped UF 6 spots to look closer to Rivals and Scouts to try and make their rankings more legitimate?

florida had their LOIs early in the day. other teams caught up to and passed them as the later LOIs rolled in.

LUgenbill looks like a fool up there moving the little squares around on the electronic board as if it is the stock exchange or something. He is an idiot.

The way ESPN implies certain classes are better than others is foolishness. There are about 8 classes this year that are virtually indistinguishable.

Naw, their rankings were still all sorts of screwed.

They really need to get it together. They'll never get the respect of the recruiting followers until they do so. I don't know why they don't just buy into a service that has a staff. They've got the money, and could devote an entire channel to recruiting/off field college football.

The thing that gets me is that most of these analysts don't follow college football year round. They see the UA AA games and that's about it. Why not at least have a recruiting insider out there?

they simply don't do the level of evaluation that the other services do.

Even their NFL draft evaluation is total shite. Having McShay on as their "expert" is laughable. The guy is not respected in NFL circles. He makes Kiper look like Bill Belicheck.

No, ESPN is just idiots. I posted multiple times yesterday about OU and Florida being in the top 10 while barely cracking the top 20 on legit sites. And how ESPN just piggybacks REAL recruiting services info. This is proof...Espn sucks!

Espn bases their rankings too much on the top 150 they choose.

Well they started the day at #5, before anyone signed and even LSU passed them and all we added was Rasco, who isnt even in ESPN's top 150? Something is fishy

And the complete 150 is a joke. Sylve at 40 overall is a good laugh. Dude can fly, but cannot run routes or catch. This was proved on the field at the UA practices and game. There are plenty of other examples. They just flat out suck and like always, are just trying to make money off a topic growing in popularity. Like MMA. They are tools on that too.

ESPN is the worst recruiting "source" and NFL draft "scout" out there.

The thing is though, for what ESPN does (try to cover all aspects of every sport) they are pretty good. It's hard to compare them to rivals/scout who spend all year and devote all their time to this stuff.

I just wish they wouldn't sell their BS as the gospel and admit to their weak evaluations.

They should just buy Rivals, or at least hire them as outside consultants

Well they would have ot buy from yahoo, would probably wouldn't sell cheap considering the increasing interest in cfb recruiting over the last few years.

They would be better off just hosting the show about recruiting using an aggregate of the other sources instead of propping up their own half-assed ratings and totally ignoring the fact they they are the Outlier by any objective measure compared to several other legit recruiting sources.

They just have the biggest megaphone.

And he's a malevolent little shite as well. I love the auto-smirk that automatically goes on his face when he hears the word LES. It's pavlovian. I'd like to punch him in his uterus.

Unfortunately, many take what ESPN says as gospel. They're not going to give anyone else credit when they can give their poor evaluations and most in the country will believe it because it's on ESPN.

Look at all the people on this site that go to ESPN to look at their 150 and class rankings. That's like going to the Bleacher Report for news.

I wouldn't suppose Urban Myer being on the payroll and part of the show had anything to do with it ?
