I really hate when families do this. Heck let the kid go where he feels is best. Texas is a damn dumpster fire right now and they aren't sending anyone to the Pros. Sounds like some selfishness going on in his family

So..if you had a stud prospect as your kid, and you lived in Louisiana, you wouldn't put pressure on him to go to LSU if you truly thought it was the best place for him? Let the 18 year old kid make all the decisions in his life without your wisdom? I dunno man...I would push my kid to go to LSU, but in the end support him.

I knew someone was going to bring up Collins. The issue with him was he was following his girlfriend and was totally misleading the staff.

I'm talking about instances were someone like Fowler made a decision to come to LSU, and from a non bias it's a perfect fit, they put guys in the Pros, a first rate program with an elite DC and plenty of early playing time. Now his family is crying about Texas but it would totally be a terrible business decision. They want him close but like I said, it's coming off as selfish.

If my kid was a QB, as much as an LSU fan as I am, I would steer him away from LSU. Texas is a dumpster fire, coach on his way out, no one getting drafted, losing season. I could understand if the family was pulling him to like Baylor or Oklahoma. Texas is bad business for any recruit right now.

Young man, you have to listen to you and your family. I know Texas played a lot of freshmen last year and you would make a dynamic duo with Malik Jefferson. But just keep in mind that you will get a lot of playing time at LSU and the coaching staff is more stable with new Defensive Coordinator Aranda.

wonder if anyone would agree with this statement if it was made to, let's say, Dylan Moses.

If DM doesn't want to be at LSU, that perfectly fine & he'll succeed wherever he goes.

Just don't blame it on mean fans on a message board.

There is a difference between LSU circa 2011 (when Collins chose the Tide) and LSU right now (if Moses does the same) v the absolute grease fire that Texas is. Texas is the fifth best program in its own state.

We tend to lose out in the family squabbles. Hopefully we win one

Why?? Who wouldn't want someone kin to them to stay close to home? Everybody not rich and can just travel the world to watch their kid play. I'm not about to sit here and act like I wouldn't push my kid to LSU just because I want a recruit from texas lol.
