I am not being negative I love this offense, but do you really think tight end is essential here when it hasn't been since les has been in tenure. I love LSU football and all our coaches and I always have supported them but if your gonna cry cause some kid decides to leave the state at a position that most of us don't even realize is on the field half the time your kidding yourself. The kid shouldnt want to come to LSU and do nothing I don't blame him

Exactly how is this Ensminger's fault? How in the hell do you convince a TE to come here when we have hardly ever incorporated a TE into any offensive gameplan. Also doesn't help we had One Read Lee and Always Running Jefferson the last four years.
Dickson has been the only one in about the last 7-8 years and even he didn't do much. When an exact quote from Smith stating, "LSU doesn't use their TEs a lot in the passing game" not much Ensminger can do there.
Not trying to defend him because I think he is wasted space, but to say this is all on Ensminger is just dumb.

Not related and I think he has his faults, recruiting being one, but many posters here would have you believe he is worthless on this staff. He is criticized heavily while posters don't know the value he brings to this staff.
I didn't defend him in this thread. I only complained about the shitty title, but I will defend coaches that I feel are being unjustly criticized.

Sure there is. That's more than likely another staff negative recruiting. I agree with Books. Sell the program and show him where he fits in. Which is what he is suppose to be doing.

Henry has been on the staff for 2 weeks. Give him time. Also most,if not all, LA kids are recruited by multiple staff members not just one. Ensminger is just the lead. Doesn't mean he is the only guy on Smith. This is purely Smith being told things by other staffs and believing it. Sadly his quote about our usage of TEs in the passing game is absolutely true. I have no concern from the recruiting standpoint. I'm only concerned with the playcalling and using the TE part. That part will be the important part it seems. If we use the TE this year then we'll get Smith.

After watching Smith play a few times while he appears to be a gifted athlete I'm not sure he is a "must get" for the Tigers. I'm sure I'm gonna get bashed for this one but just my opinion.
