Emery vs. Evans

Alright I am just looking for some opinions here. Haven’t seen either play a down in college football yet, but seem to be similar in size and speed. What is y’alls comparison? I saw a headline where Evans said “I would be the back they need” talking about LSU which is what made me make this post.

Feel like Evans would be a better natural runner/every down back. Emery is that guy with more versatility and playmaking ability.

Emery is the best RB to come out of LA since Kevin Faulk.
The patience he has for blocks to develop and the burst he has once he hits the hole is generational.
He might not have the pure power that Fournette had, but he’s a more complete RB.

Leonard Fournette has something to say about this.

Leonard can say all he wants, he didn’t learn how to let blocks develop until his Sophomore year.

Emery is a pretty unique talent. Really glad he signed with LSU.
Ty Davis -Price is very good too and a great complement.

Both are very similar. Emery is a little more explosive and has better balance and flexibility. Evans is gonna have more of a power game and run over dudes more often while Emery will run through arm tackles with elusiveness and speed.

That’s what I thought of Emery too. Gunna put a move on you then blow past you with his speed. Then you have Ty Davis on the other end just running you over.

Yeah we haven't had a RB like Emery in a quick minute. He accelerates much faster than Fournette and Guice. Dude just puts the jets on and will wreck defenders with anticipatory jukes and slight set up moves.

Not saying he didn’t, but Leonard Fournette was considered one of the best High School talent’s to ever come up, and people said he was the greatest RB in a decade since Adrian Peterson. Emery is going to be incredible, but even he is not the talent Fournette was at that point in time. Also, you’re assuming Emery is going to know to let his blocking develop right away in your post.

Cecil Collins is whispering “hello” through your bedroom window.

Fournette was probably better as a sophomore and junior when he was closer to 220 than in college when he was 240.
I think Emery is pretty similar to Peterson actually. Smaller and not quite as fast but similar.

I think Evans is the much better athlete. He could play multiple positions and be good at it. Emery I think is a prototypical RB. That being said I’m not real sure which one would translate better to the CFB field.
As for Davis that guy is going to surprise lots of people who think he’s just a power back. The guy is very quick and fast as well. I think he’ll be what I thought Alley Brousard could have been here if he would have taken care of himself. I think both will be great here at LSU.
I hope LSU either lands Evans or Milton. I like both guys and maybe Milton a little more since it opens up a new pipeline to LSU. That guy gets any type of hardware while at LSU and it could be huge for the program going forward. That’s why I hope we get a QB, OT, LB, or DL from that area also. If those guys start to see LSU as a factory for success and the team to finally beat Bama consistently then the better for us.
One of these days LSU is going to land a big time QB from around that area and he’s going to light Saturday Night in Death Valley the frick up. That’s what we need is some fire power. If LSU can land who we are projected to land at OT and the DL I think we will be well on our way to the next great decade of LSU football. Let’s get it and GT.

I love what Emery has to offer, but he can’t block yet, which is going to be a pretty vital role in this pass heavy 4-5 wideout offense. If you go 4 wide you ain’t got a TE to block for the QB...

I remember that Auburn game in 2015 when LF wrecked shop. I hope we see that kind of coming out party for Emery one day.
