5 star corner from IMG for those unfamiliar. I believe he’s friends with dez ricks.
I noticed on Instagram he spoke about all of his visits and mentions LSU with the food and people made a great culture and “it was probably his favorite visit yet…”
My question is - knowing these kids who want to be at bama often use LSU as leverage, what do you do differently recruiting him in terms of time and money spent compared to Ricks? If anything? Surely there are some expert takes in here haha! I’m curious what you all think.

This one is going to be a UGA/Bama battle unless someone delivers a huge one.
As for what can be done different, read the room better. It's always been a problem here for some reason. Our staffs and insiders have never been good at reading the room and it ends up costing us at the end of cycles. Fortunately for us BK is prepared for the misses with the portal.
As I stated above you can already read this kids recruitment. Wouldn't waste resources on him. But I don't get paid millions to make those decisions so we have to trust those that do to make those calls

Okay, hear me out. We start playing chess instead of checkers. We bring in all the 5*s who aren't committing to us, claim we are having a big recruiting party with all the attractions, whatever it takes to get them on campus. When they get here, we plant guns and/or drugs on them and call the police. If they ain't coming to LSU, let em enroll at the EBRPP.

Saban isn't Fisher. He's not paying for stars, he's paying for players. Brave strategy to just say "let them spend" when that's what they've done for their decade plus of dominance. NIL is a chance to catch up not fall further behind because we don't have the people willing to spend like they do.
That said I do believe in your premise just not as it pertains to UGA or Bama. They've shown they get good ROI on the money they spend.

Trust me I know. It’s just a very interesting case study in my opinion. Agree strongly with whoever mentioned it makes them spend more which is great, but I feel that time and effort spent recruiting a lost cause in Ricks (I’ll admit he had a ton of people convinced, even Fong) could be spent elsewhere and in other ways for kids who really want to sport P&G. Not sure how you can spot the frauds!

It ultimately will come down to consistency. If you are consistently competitive with the best teams and developing players/getting them drafted, the 5 starts will come more often.

The biggest problem with the whole thing was knowing we don’t have infinite bags of sunflower seeds and king cakes to go around. Hate to waste it on a kid with a bama face
