A&M could have a team loaded with nothing but 5 stars and would only win 8 games at best. Oregon is and will always be a joke. Texas is the exact same shithole that A&M is (and it has nothing to do with who the coach is. Saban I’m his prime couldn’t win at either of those schools because their problem is the big money morons fancy themselves as football coaches and have entirely too much say in game day decisions). Michigan is a joke. USC hired a dipshit as a head coach that wouldn’t know a good defense if it ran up and kicked him in his overpaid balls. And if you think Chokelahoma will ever be as good as LSU you need to just delete your account now and never speak of LSU sports again.

This is a really dumb take.

Well it’s simple. We must make a rule. Anyone not donating at least 200$ to LSU cannot bitch about anything on tigerdroppings.
We would be able to buy an NFL team of players at that point.

Dude I am sorry you just don’t know shite, Number 1 the threat isn’t those two schools that was 2-5 years ago. The new threats are Texas, which can buy Alabama and Ohio State and have change left, and Georgia who took the bagman chief from Bama.

Next, if LSU can stay in top 10 on good evaluations in recruiting 3 out of 4 years we can play for National Championship. It’s that simple

This is a lazy class, I was hoping Wilson and crew could lock down LA and the. Snag to cream from the surrounding states but we’re struggling locking down the elite LA kids and we’re getting beat for the OOS kids.

Yeah people are on this summer panic trip. Just looked up TCU recruiting class last 4 yrs and the best class they had via On3 was 20th ranked. Reason I looked them up is because they did make it to Championship I know they got blew out. If we develop the players a Top 10 class is still great and this is only 1 year with LSU. Some people just think it's simple as a kid is from Louisiana it's a automatic they going to LSU. Sorry to bust that bubble but some kids just want to leave the state. Hell Georgia loses at ton of top recruits nobody says anything and the other Top school is Georgia Tech in-state let that sink in.

Out of Georgia 2024 Top 10 ranked players 6 are going out of state 2 being 5 stars and 2 uncommitted leaning else where.

Also 2023 Georgia Top 10 players in state only 2 committed to them. I'm using them as example because they have won last 2 Championships. They don't even get 50% of they Top 10 players in state.

My point is well-taken. We need a handful of high-ranked OOS recruits every year. We'll never get all of the LA kids, just most of them. The OOS studs are a necessity to build a championship caliber team IMO.

Now, how many of those have LSU in their top few choices? Not seeing very many and that's the concern. Yes, we can make up ground, but in a supposed down year in-state, that should be concerning...

For the "it's still early crowd:

quote:

People love to scream this... actually its not early. The early signing period changed that years ago. Its much harder on the staff to recruit in-season. Im sure they would prefer to lock up big targets before August. 50% of the 34 5-stars have already committed and it seems like we're only in the race for one of them (Simmons).

Perkins is the only elite prospect that we've been able to grab late in the process.

Looks like this one didn’t play the game, but was reranked?

247Sports updated its Top247 for the 2024 class on Thursday. LSU commit Kylan Billiot saw one of the biggest rises, jumping all the way to No. 3 in Louisiana.

Previously with an 89 rating as a high 3-star, Billiot is now rated a 93, as a solid 4-star prospect, and sits just outside the top 100 at No. 105 overall in the country. He is the No. 21 wide receiver in the land and the second-highest ranked Tiger commitment behind Dashawn McBryde, who is No. 74 overall and the No. 3 safety.

Billiot’s stock skyrocketed after he put on a clinic at the LSU 7on7 team tournament earlier in June. In the 6-foot-3, 195-pound range, he flashed strong and confident hands to go outside his frame and up and above defenders, with a knack for using his size in tight quarters to get open space.

We have 7 out of 10 committed to US. The other 3 haven't made a decision yet Mack, Singleton, and McKinley. Yes, We need McKinley Top Dlineman in general. If we wasn't recruiting him yes I see why people would get mad but they are and it's the young man decision. LSU has no control of his decision if he just wants to leave the state in general. I would love all them to state and go to LSU.

Years ago they had a coach that would sign a bunch of 5* players, ranked in their junior year of high school, he and his staff would have most of the work done. Only problem, those guys never developed into their senior year. Most times they stayed with the high rankings. That’s what got him in trouble, it’s doesn’t take long to see a 5* player, once he gets to campus.
The evaluations and development of players seem to tell you real quickly who deserves the added stars.
Perkins yep, didn’t take long to watch his high school film, Campbell once he got on campus and started working with the starting OL. Emery Jones, took a little longer, he didn’t get to make it to the Spring practice, arriving in the summer workouts. And Mason Taylor, a guy from day one, knowing he would be your starting TE.
So yes, rank them later in their time spent in college.

They made it because they play in the BIg 12.

Try having a 20th rank class in the SEC see how that works for you.

Yeah they was in Big 12 and had alot of luck. They still upset Michigan and made it to Championship game. Point I'm making our classes are way better than that people complain to much. We usually finish within Top 5 and this just 1 class and this is a down year in the state compared to previous years. Also looked at past classes only like 10-15 of the players from every class pan out anyway.

It is a down year in the state I agree.

Womack
Howard
Toviano
Jalen Brown

Were all out of state top 100 players last year.

On a down year for LA seems like that would be the focus.

The rest of the class was filled with players from 9 other states.

We will be fine people will still cry if we have Collins and McKinley sign with 2024. They will just say we missed on Singelton and Mack always something to complain about. You go after the best talent regardless of out of state.

Again people will find anything to complain about don't care if this was a Top 3 class.

I disagree. If they are then they are idiots.

We had a top 5 class last year I didn't hear to many people complain at all.

Recruiting is obviously very important, but in this day and age, roster building is has become even more important. BK has been extremely impressive identifying weaknesses and filling holes on his roster. In regards to recruiting, I’m impressed with his evaluating of talent regardless of star ratings.

I got so much to say after this post but this time I'm going to take the silent road.
