Really good film. He has very good ball skills and his spacial awareness is next level. On the down side his tackling is suspect but that is technique and can be taught. He will get burned at the next level if his tackling technique does not improve.

That was the same thing with Mathieu, too - as good as Peterson is, if we could put Mathieu's football processor into Peterson's body, they would have to change the rules of football.
I've never seen a defensive player/return specialist who could be counted on for so many disruptive plays/scores in half a century of watching football at all levels. He was as disruptive - or more - (in college, at least) as Lawrence Taylor. That's the highest compliment I can make in this area.

Someone needs to check this kid's DNA. I am sure there is some Honey Badger in it.

He's definitely a playmaker. shite, he looked like he was playing every position on the field and making plays lol. Imagine if he could just focus on one specific position and improving his game, he would be really damn good. You know he has played tough competition too coming from the catholic league in Nola. He does look like he would be a good player. I would for sure be down with signing him at LSU. frick star rankings, they're a joke sometimes anyway. He seems to have been overlooked due to his height and that's bullshite. If the guy can play like that, I don't care if he's only 5'9"...he's a playmaker. I like him and that lb Cooper from covington...he also looks like a stud on his film. Would be glad with both of them honestly. Geaux tigers!

Looks like one of those guys who's measurables don't scream "elite athlete" but who's elite with the pads on.

Like I said in previous post about him, he has a good head on his shoulders, carries a 3.8 GPA. He wrestles and is in the band...
He's a prototypical all around good kid, and will not have any off field troubles what-so-ever...
Metairie kid grew up playing at Cleary playground..

His film looks good. What's his combine numbers? He doesn't look that fast and his offer list isn't that impressive. I'm guessing he doesn't have good combine numbers is why bigger programs are not on him.

With an offense like ours, we need guys that can take the ball away to keep the defense off the field longer. Stingley came in and did exactly what we thought he'd do, get turnovers, and having another guy back there like that would be almost unfair.

Dude is solid.

Difference with Honey Badger though is he had really good athleticism that showed in combine. His only knock was his size. This guy probably doesn't have good athleticism timed well in the combine and he obviously lacks size. Good football player but I don't think this is the type of player LSU wants. They need guys who have his instincts but have athleticism that jumps out at you considering the elite athletes they have to match up with.
If they're seriously going to approach a DB it should probably be Williams who didn't sign yesterday and is extremely athletic.

That was my thought initially but someone in this thread mentioned he timed in the 4.5 range with a 200 meter time right in the middle of Chase’s and Koy Moore’s and a really impressive broad jump. He seems to be a pretty impressive athlete to go with a big time ball player.
I think we’d be making a mistake to pass on him if we’re gonna sign another DB in this class

4.49 40 yard dash . That's pretty damn fast

Here are some more interesting facts about Kaufman:
National Honors Society
3.8 GPA
Former teammate of Jamar Chase
Very Strong player
High school wrestler. Finished 4th in 195lb weight class (probably one of the reasons he strips the ball so easily)
10 takeaways & 8 forced fumbles
Yes I said EIGHT (not a typo) forced fumbles including 112 tackles.
Almost single handedly beat Catholic High School (Baton Rouge) in State Championship Game . Final Score was 14-10 Kaufman scored BOTH touchdowns. Plays he made include: a stripped fumble & recovery (unbelievable play), kickoff return for a touchdown, rushing touchdown & game sealing interception.
Rummel vs Catholic Highlights

Should read 4.49, that’s what the article says

What?!
Why would you think this guy doesn't have good athleticism
This whole post was a horrific take
ETA:
4.49 40 yard dash
11.51 100m
44.62 400m relay
22' 05 in the long jump
That is a VERY good athlete. Plus he plays like 8 positions.
You mention size...well, he has the same height, weight and 40 time as Tyrann Mathieu with the same looking instincts and nose for the ball.

I finally got around to watching this kid's film. Sometimes you don't worry about rankings and measurables. This looks like one of those times. That kid is a baller.
I'd also add that these are the players that ignite your team, make everyone else play harder/better. Absolutely give this kid a shot.

Doesn’t look like O will offer.
Posted on 12/19/19 at 3:38 pm to BASED
Well, there has to be some reason why his offer list isn't that good and LSU in their own backyard isn't heavily pursuing him so far. Offer list is probably the best indication of talent though some do fall through the cracks. It's a more reliable way to tell how good a player is than looking at star ratings and his offer list isn't that good.
So, LSU sees something they don't like as does the other major programs. He's not exactly playing at some middle of nowhere school. I think his film is really good but I'll trust LSU's evaluation over this board especially considering how elite LSU is in that position every year.
