If we let this guy get away, we are making a huge mistake. He plays like the honey badger.

Does anyone know how fast he is?

I Thought this meant he has a child named Donovan Kaufman Jr for a second.

Big time sex brag for a high schooler

I watched the video twice and I like the film. I was try to decide ow fast/quick he is and I noticed something strange.

Does it look like the film is sped up like 20%. The way players get up off the ground after a tackle make it seems so.

He doesn't look very fleet of foot, but he makes a ton of plays. I would think that may be why he hasn't gotten a lot of attention from us.

His speed is what I was questioning also.

We need to sign this kid up. He’s a damn ball player! If we’re looking for a safety/nickle type dude we need to offer this cat

He’s a slightly less athletically explosive honey badger. You can’t teach this kind of ability to create turnovers and make plays

And he’s a nola kid. Nola kids generally work out at LSU. They’ve got that dog in them. Idk what we’re waiting on

I know our offense won’t be the same without Joe but somebody like him to help get the ball back to our offense could be lethal.

I have said it before but he is also a long jumper and triple jumper. Jumping ability can negate some height concerns. Same with Mathieu

Man, I want this kid on our team badly. I tweeted that to the entire coaching staff

He is a playmaker and apparently an awesome kid. Would be a boost to the product on the field and the locker room.

4.49 40. Dude can fly
I'll try and find a link.

Absolutely LOVE this guy. Steved00, bayoutigre & gmoney2600 have mentioned him a bunch also. He is quick as a cat, his motor is non-stop, always looking to strip the ball. He just makes plays . Tyrann Mathieu is an excellent comparison. Has been very underrated. I would LOVE to get him. Guys at Florida State are very high on him still. If he was 2 inches taller he would be a very high 4 star from his play alone .

He's not elite fast, but he's plenty fast enough and has tons of explosiveness.

He ran an 11.51 in the 100m. Ja'Marr Chase was an 11.05. Koy Moore was a 12.05.

Rummel Records

Also has a 44.62 in the 400m relay which is the fastest ever for Rummel. And 22' 05" in the long jump which is 5th all time for Rummel.

He is plenty fast enough.

Ja'Marr Chase has the Rummel record for long jump BTW at 24' 2.25". That is a beastly jump.

ETA:

Also, he quite literally single-handedly won the State Championship for Rummel this year

quote:

Rummel wins state title in thriller over Catholic 14-10
Rummel's Donovan Kaufman scored a rushing touchdown, scored the game-winner on a kickoff return for a score and intercepted a pass to clinch the state title.

Didn’t realize he was that athletic. If the 4.49 stuff is true along with those track numbers, we need to make a move on this guy. Can’t have another Amik Robertson situation, that kid should’ve been a tiger. Kaufman should be a Tiger too, especially since we have so many spots available and need a safety.

With Toles being a true over the top, rangy, center fielder type, Kaufman is a perfect compliment as a dude that can line up all over and make plays

I like him way more as a Jacoby Stevens/Delpit replacement in run support and blitzing

I'd be ok with that too, but the kid was awesome hands for a DB and a nose for turnovers both in strips and interceptions. He seriously does play like Tyrann. Obviously there is one Tyrann, but that is what his highlight reel feels like.

Just makes fricking plays.

I am from Baton Rouge and have zero connection to Rummel FWIW. This kid is the real deal. You cannot teach those instincts. He's got plenty speed, great leaper, and is the best playmaker in the state besides maybe Boutte.

We will regret not pressing harder for him just like Amik.

ETA:

If you look height, weight, speed, position, instincts, playmaking, etc. he is a Tyann clone.

5'9", 4.5ish speed, turnover machine.

I clearly remember being upset when the offer for TM was made. What were we doing offering a short 2/3 star player that nobody wanted. After that experience, I vowed never to doubt the coaches insight again. I'm always skeptical when I hear these guys compared to TM, but after watching his film, I'm sold. Would love to have him on our team.
