Does this recruiting cycle change LSU's strategy?

I'd really like to know if Brown, Willis, or Noil ever made a verbal to Miles. That's all that really matters right now and we may never know the answer. Did he get played by these kids and if so...what is he going to change to ensure that we have better information leading up to a kids announcement.
Why are we just now finding out that GW was "always" leaving the state? The more important question is..Did our coaches know that? I'm also tired of reading BS about our coaches insisting that he play DL when he wanted to play DE. Miles can't be that stupid...right??
How do we lose TB in the 11th hour when every logical factor pointed to LSU? I've got a sick feeling that Miles is sitting back on his couch 2 knuckles deep in his nose wondering...WTF happened.
I actually get Noil to aTm but why were we so confident for so long? My main concern about Noil is...Did we make decisions about how we pursued other recruits (Simms/DW)based on how we thought it might effect Noil? Miles can't let a bunch of 17 yr/olds have that much control. I sure hope he learned that.
Thank God that the LF situation worked out...but can we really afford to recruit that way. Given all that Miles did to make it work for LF...would it have been too much to ask LF to commit earlier this summer?
Did Miles wake up yesterday morning thinking 5/5 or 2/5? Did he expect what happened with TB, SN, and GW? I sure hope that he knew a lot more than we did.
If a kid really wants to attend LSU, he will commit earlier. If not, we should expect the bs games.

Stop with the miles is an idiot crap. Frank Wilson recruited speedy and gerald and they flat out lied. Can't blame the coaches when the kids lie.

I never said that Miles is an idiot. I'm saying that I HOPE that Miles knew a lot more than we did.
I get that he was probably lied to...so is he going to change how he handles these kids in the future? Is it worth holding off on one kid because we are "all in" on a higher rated kid?
As an example, I'm thinking about the Santos Ramirez kid that we held back on because we were waiting on a TB. Should Miles take that commit when it's available? I'm not looking to argue...just discuss better ways to handle recruiting. If anything, we can all agree that it's getting worse every year.

We have a Karr problem and we have a Monroe problem. Just because a problem exists, doesn't make it our fault. There is no guarantee of any remedy. We just give it our best shot and hope that our Program remains among the top half dozen in the country. We will win the vast majority of the battles but there will NEVER be a time where we get every kid we want.
At the end of the day this class will be an A+, and amongst the best in school history, and the rival of any class in the country, but will still be criticized for not being perfect.

I would say that the LSU recruiting staff can always learn to upgrade their approach to the games that are being played...because they were the ones that got "Played"!

Well saying Miles is two knuckles deep in his nose is not a vote of confidence. Sounds like a little anger to me

Can you blame the coaches if you can't sign the highest rated DT, OT, DB and WR in Louisiana if you coach at LSU? Or do we just write all of them off as liars and low character guys? I know LSU will get some good replacements, but LSU can't start losing those kinds of homegrown players... especially the linemen IMHO.

I think Miles learned from this with LC, who btw looked lost last nite. Who is the secondary coach at ALabama anyway? A freshman can do that to u with a bunch of little guys at WR?
That was so comical. I enjoyed that game more than ours.
Thats the way the NFL is headed, Bama better change.
Sorry couldnt resist.
I really believe Miles got lied to and played by these guys and maybe even by his own people. It was a tough spot to be in if u think about it, for all of them. What could LSU do? Youre the in state favorite to all these kids that want to announce late. Miles got caught up in all "his" La kids going to the UA game and wanting the spotlight. Once he agreed, hostage.
Whatever the plan was it needs to be changed thats for sure. U cannot let the new kids hold your program hostage, even if u get them Im not sure thats the way to go.

There have been clear warning signs about this stuff for years and Les and his staff clearly didnt make adjustments or good ones. There is no excuse whatsoever to lose this many in state stud recruits, but it happens.
The sad part is how much people were sweating losing Frank Wilson it Les because of this AMA ing in state haul we'd lose if they left and ad of now we've lost 4 of the top 6 players in the state and all to direct SEC rivals plus a kid from Texas that was supposedly all LSU.
In the end, changes have to be made and people need to accept that guys like Frank Wilson are completely overrated.

We have to admit that there are some kids that want to play for LSU, regardless of the record, coach or results from last season.
On the flip side, the coaches need to determine why some of the highly recruited players do not want to lay at LSU and/or why they wish to leave the state. Until this is determined, they won't know how to expose this early. Once identified, they can address the situation and make the necessary changes.

Recruiting is an ever evolving process. What worked in the past may not work today. You have to stay on top of the processes.

What exactly is the Karr problem (assuming it is more than just two guys not committing to LSU this year).
