Thoughts? I didn’t think he was going to start if Nuss left but now do yall think he goes elsewhere for another chance?

he told the staff he was redshirting
he probably needs to drop down a notch if he wants to start or play
He'd be a good fit for Tulane

I mean he's horrible and if nuss gets hurt and they put him in the season will be over just like that to be honest.

Maybe he has accepted his lot in life and is just happy getting a free education and a little NIL money?

Seems like a smart kid. Not everyone can make the NFL.

I think he has aspirations to become a college coach and he chose LSU to learn coaching under Kelly and Sloan

Those brief couple series were his “Swann Song” here.

He needs to move on.

Why would you advocate for a backup that is causing no problems to leave?

LSU needs about 6 QBs on the roster, including walk-ons, to be able to conduct practices effectively.

Wanting players to leave that cause no issues is moronic. He's not great, but few 3rd-string QBs have SEC starting experience.

He not "horrible"... he was actually good for Vanderbilt against SEC competition. I assure you they wish they had him back.

The issue is at QB, the backup gets no reps with the ones... and gets thrown in the middle of a game and can't connect on our timing pattern offense.

He's not horrible. And I'm not his relative.

Doesn’t Vandy have a younger QB that runs circles around Swann?

Okay then make him 3rd string. My main concern is he's not trotted out there if something happens to Nuss. He is a straight up emergency QB. Not a viable backup.

Why wouldn't he stay? It's not like he came in here thinking he was going to beat out Nuss.

No he’s not - damn, my guy got a few snaps and judgement came quick. He was 2nd string QB, not Joe Burrow.

Him staying or leaving is important, he’s the deciding factor in whether or not we get another qb from the portal to be the replacement to Nuss or if we stick with Hurley.

We’ll see. He likely isn’t getting much in NIL and was really just brought here to be a buffer in case Collins couldn’t handle the backup role or transferred. I expect Hurley will pass him just like Collins did. If he wants to hang around and be 3rd string again, the staff probably won’t force him out unless they’re desperate for a freed roster spot.

They brought him in because he had started multiple SEC games at Vandy. Most 3rd string QBs don’t have that kind of experience.

He was 3rd string this year.

He only played because Collins had already made it clear he was leaving.

And you also can’t base all your opinion on his ability based on a few plays.

Lots of backups look bad when thrust in for just a few plays.

Does every fan base have an obsession with the backup QB or just LSU?
