Do people realize how good we are? How good our recruiting is? (Long)

Last year, miles and Wilson got every single person they wanted. They may have missed out on some long shots (like rsj), but pretty much got everything they wanted (and no, we didn't want Tim Williams). Watch and see how underrated this last class was. Watch when Jefferson, white, bower, Jennings, beckwith are on the field. (White and Jefferson didn't play).
I'm telling you, our talent is underrated as a whole for a reason. Simple market share. I don't tend to be a paranoid or conspiracy theorist, but when cam rob overtook LF for the top spot, someone knew what was going on. But he was on the fence anyway and everyone knew it. We're not losing anyone else in state we want. That has been the case since 2000. Miles has pretty much done what he wants on the recruiting trail every year except 2012. The 2011 class was underrated too, the 2010 class wasn't near as loaded.
We have had only one disappointing class IMO, and that was the 2012 class. We were submarined by a very dirty program and agenda and I actually felt like there was a campaign against LSU. There is a HANDFULL of plays that separate LSUs current status and Alabamas current success. But there is this notion that their program and success is so VASTLY superior. horseshite Rigged schedules, rigged rematches etc.
It all goes back to market share. Do you think it was nick Saban and Alabama begging and setting the rematch? It wasnt. Alabama is a bigger brand period. Just imagine LSU going on to win the title and bama having to settle with losing 3 in a row to goofy ole les miles with the greatest college team of all time? Could you imagine the class we would have brought in? That was not going to be allowed to happen, that brand could not be buried right now. They fought harder then heck to prop up Oklahoma, Notre dame, Michigan and Ohio state as long as they possibly could, until it could not be done. that recruiting class after that game was the knife twist. They pulled out every dirty trick to capitalize on 1/9 and bury LSU for good.
But it's not going to work. Our guys that we recruited las year and this year are every bit as good. This will become more apparent in the following weeks as the season marches on. Jalen mills, dural a 3 star
I really believe Alabama will start on a path of decline and they will not win a championship this year or next. But that's not even the point I wanted to make.
Lsu will never get a fair shake. Because of Louisiana, and because of that, our recruiting is overlooked, under analyzed and just flat out rated wrong. Our "declining" program will produce at least 3 FIRST ROUNDERS this year. Mark it down, ban bet, bookmark, what evs.
I am doing this so people don't lose site of the big picture and understand how good we actually have it. They want you to believe that we have to have certain guys because how many stars they have by their name. Then we turn on each other when they go else where. That is what they want, no different then every troll alter hiding behind the LSU logo on here. The fact is.. Miles and LSU get who they want, not what rivals say is better or scout. If they have ***** by their name, so be it. Doesn't mean they are any less likely then a *** star that wasn't highly recruited. Cam was a long shot at best, and people actually knew that. Good riddance.
Market share.

The sec network can/will change that. Also, I think it's important we build a top notch broadcasting facility.

Our declining program will produce 3 more first rounders at least this year.
Watch.

Never mind that we get the majority of the rest of the top LA recruits. Never mind that we get 12-15 good LA recruits every year. For a couple of star-gazing, inferiority complex-riddled fans, it's all about the 1 or 2 recruits we don't get.

Everyone would have been thrilled to get him, but most knew it was not in the cards. So be it.
As for your general thesis, it is pretty solid.
Miles is a great recruiter, and so is Frank, but not getting them all is perfectly fine.
Everyone knows that Bama gets the calls more than any other team and gets the more favorable schedule and more favorable media hype..
Will make it all the more sweeter when we go 14-0 and win it all - both in 2013 and 2104 !

Great post. I am with you guys. LSU is loaded and will be for years to come. Let's go and win the NC this year and then ink one of the greatest classes in LSU history. Believe me all is well in Baton Rouge. LSU is not going anywhere soon matter of fact they are going higher than ever before in my opinion.

I rarely post threads anymore. But when I do, they can be long winded

I just read the whole thing. It's pretty bad in some spots (grammar wise), and no one is giving me shite
Think ill just leave it, it adds character. I do sound a little drunk though

Wells said!
If i may add my thoughts on the point you are trying to make. We(LSU) are like the goofy relative that no one takes seriously. People outside of the state think it's all swamp people and alligators. Les was a perfect fit for that goofy stereotype and the media has definitely taken advantage. They like us for the underdog role every now and then but they will never revere us as the perennial power we have become.
The only reason Alabama isn't in the same boat is because of their history with Bear Bryant and his legacy. Maybe we could become that in 40 or 50 years after dominating football for a couple decades, but ain't nobody got time for that! We're here now and we have our guys on that damn football field and they are a damn strong football team that is perfectly capable of winning fricking championships!

Dreaux, I like your post over all, but don't agree with everything.
first of all, Cam was not a long shot for LSU, he grew up an LSU fan for goodness sakes and I highly doubt it's over for him. Something tells me, he will have some sleepless nights in January and February.
He was bumped up to #1 because he dominated Elite D-lineman in camp this summer. He is #1 because of the likelihood he will play in the NFL for a long long time...thus greater value over an elite RB like LF
RB's have a short NFL life span of 4.5 years...so that's why lineman are more and more being elevated to #1 over skilled player types like LF.
I agree on the market share to a point (remember the USC love fest), but I don't believe in a conspiracy... I mean everyone knew that Alabama was better than OSU in 2011 but OSU deserved to play LSU, Bama didn't IMHO, but the goal was to "put the best two teams in the BCS" title game, and they did, and it's crap for LSU to play Bama again after we beat them in T-town and went undefeated, and yet they hammered us because we had no pass offense and Bama was ticked off for 2.5 months we beat them the first time.
we get most of who we want from Louisiana and I am happy about it...
Be happy for Cam, wish him well...but make no mistake he is an elite talent and pretty much everyone wanted him.
this class will be special and yes, our classes are under-valued by the recruiting services..either that or our coaches are better developers of talent

Don't forget we still have Clapp and brunfeld. Pocic can also be moved if nec. Yes it would have been nice to get crob, but we will b ok without him. No way he ever bled purple and gold!
