Do O Line recruits just not like Cregg?

Or is O not putting enough emphasis on O-Line recruiting? Offensive Line recruiting has been a major disappointment.

Who knows
But it needs to change. I imagine we'll see some turnover on offensive staff in the coming weeks and I hope we get some folks that recruit their peckers off on the OL.

Coach Chris needs to take the OL spot.

You need someone younger who can relate to these kids

We just had the offensive line of the year award last year . Makes no sense

It has to. Meanwhile Bama gets the #1 and #2 OT’s, #1 Center, and #2 Guard. And we have ONE offensive lineman signed. We can’t keep converting defensive linemen to offense and expecting to compete with Bama and UGA. Their O Lines are stacked every year.

Maybe it’s not the coach. Stud was here, struggled with o line. Killing it at OSU.
Grimes struggled as oline coach here, doing well at BYU.
Josh Henson struggled as oline coach here, killing it at ATM

Coach Stud has been the Oline coach at OSU for 5 years now and he's getting 5*s

So what’s the common denominator here? None of those guys were the head coach.

Then what is it?

Well it's either he's not a very good evaluator of talent, not a good recruiter or can't develop the talent he has currently.

What ever is the problem, O needs to fix it!

Ohio is by far the most talent rich state in the big ten footprint and Ohio State gets to cherry pick who they want and the state produces O linemen like Louisiana produces DB’s and WR’s.
Imagine if LSU was in a conference where every team had to come into the state of Louisiana to get the best recruits in that region. They don’t have a Texas and Florida they can easily go into and get the same caliber of player.

1st it’s Louisiana not having oline men on the reg.
2nd) it’s LSU not getting over the hump to become a big enough national brand.
Had we gone 8-2 this year, you pull two more out of state linemen.
LSU firiing miles then not firing him hurt our national recruiting.
Now, a second opportunity to take advance of national exposure, we have a poor season and Title iX. This hurt out of state recruiting.

Major changes and overhaul needed on the OL recruiting strategy. From evaluation , development and processing those who you whiffed on. You build the team around the OL, not around the skill players. LSU doesn’t have an issue at getting skill players. Saban got LSU rolling by building the team around the OL/DL.
Alabamas OL class
Signed today
OT 5 star #1
OT 5 star #2
OC 4 star #1
Will sign
OG 4 star #2
To the people that say, that’s Bama and the program they have rolling...go look at NS recruiting classes at LSU in 2000, 2001, 2002
2001
OT 5 star #1
OG 5 star #1
OC 4 star #3
Signed 3 other OL, 24/7 doesn’t provide rating
2002
OG 4 star #8
OT 4 star #22
3 OT 3 star
12 OL in 2 years, all highly rated with LSU not rolling. Nothing matters until you get the OL fixed. You have to recruit at a high rate and develop. You can sign all the high rated skill players you want...LSU doesn’t lack in this department...fix the OL and the rest takes Care of itself.
To look at another program, Ohio state and their yearly OL recruiting
2017
Position / star / position rank / state recruited
OG 5star #1 cali
OG 4star #2 Ohio
OT 4star #28 Ohio
2018
OT 5star #1 fla
OC 4star #1 NY
OT 4star #9 Tenn
2019
OC 5star #2 Ga
OG 4star #7 Hi
OT 4star #23 Ohio
OG 4star transfer Rutgers
OT 3star #86 ind
2020
OT 5star #1 Ohio
OC 4star #2 NJ
OT 3star #3 Mich
OG 3star #91 Ohio
Fix the OL
LSU HAS to take 3-5 every year

Dude that's so depressing to see at OsU because their Oline coach is Stud all of those years.
