It looks like Breaux has the size to move inside. Stone out of JC is a large man if we get him. I am taking a leap on Hamlin out of JC and he will be inside. These 3 with Johnson could be the 4 DL commits.

Another kid on the list is Marcus Downs out of SC he looks pretty good on his film. Very active not sure where we stand with Hamlin, Stone or Downs.

We lose a minimum of 7 off DL and that is not counting Wingo. I am not sure how the surgery will affect Wingo draft. Whether we get these 4 to campus LSU still needs 3 more in portal to have 15 on roster.

We need to start throwing money at guys like Reliford & Collins. We can’t slow play DL or else we will look like our current DB situation

besides Jefferson and Oghoufo who are Seniors and exhaust their eligibility, who are the other 5 you are projecting to lose from the DL?

Watch Maason Smith go pro and tear it up.

He may go pro, but I can’t see him ever tearing up the NFL.

Where do you guys keep coming up with this stuff?

Maason Smith couldn’t tear up the Nicholls or McNeese O-Lines at this point.

Maason needs a real coach and another off-season.

Hopefully he can be Damone Clark 2.0 next year

Maason being hurt will be a blessing in disguise for our 2024 DL. He has no business going pro after this season especially with his NIL deals. He can make a lot of money next year when he gets fully healthy, in shape, and has a full off-season with Lindsey.

full offseason with Lindsey

Do we even know what his status is? He should have been given an analyst job to keep his benefits and a real DL coach brought in.

Lindsey won’t be here. If he is then something is very very wrong.

We’re at an impasse right now at a horrible time due to the immense need for more DL talent. Not having a DL coach and the uncertainty surrounding the entire defensive staffs future makes it difficult to land big names. We have to hope the portal is good to us which is not the way to build your team. We don’t have a choice though.

Yeah if we lose Smith and Wingo, we are IMMEDIATELY stuck in the cycle of relying on the portal, like we are with DBs.

That's why the 2023 and 2024 classes were so important for key positions on the DL and secondary.

I'm hoping he can get the DL recruiting turned around this year but it's already November and it's not looking good.

The zone-based defensive system Kelly prefers requires time to develop guys in the secondary (as opposed to the man-based systems we're use to where young guys with elite physical talent can play almost immediately), but if we keep burning guys early due to need and they fail, it creates that cycle. How he's chosen to build for the past 3 cycles is just a mess and we may take a step back next year, which is scary.

no real DL coach was leaving their team a month before the season.

We have a $200 million program. Don't be retarded. We could cherry pick 99.99% of coaches on the planet.

This is fricking ridiculous. Coaches were not leaving locked in jobs to be an interim with no guarantee beyond a season a week or two before their own camp starts.

The best case would have been hiring someone who was retired or out of a job. We did that, just several weeks too late.
