You guys that have read more about him than I have, what's the deal with him? Oregon and Florida is getting a trip. Have you guys heard if he's going to switch or not? He seemed legitimately upset that Petey left. That and where does Florida have the room?

Note: No, Baxter is not going to LSU for people that got that thought in your head.

I just read from Oregon stuff that they AND Florida want to bring him in as a QB and he likes that idea.

Personally, I think he either sticks with USC or (if he buys the QB talk and wants that) could end up at Oregon.

He would be sick in Oregon's offense!

I have read in the portland newspaper about how he does like the idea and he is about masoli's size. He is in Eugene right now for the weekend. Also heard a lineman on his team who is also committed to SC is contemplating a visit as well. Other good news is that OWA took SC off his list but I don't like Nebraska added to it. He is watching what fellow portlander SUH is doing there.

I think that he would be able to pick up where Masoli left off. I don't know how well he can throw.

USC board says he's likely to commit to uf on his visit. Apparently Carroll was the big factor in his recruitment..

He's a very talented athlete but the consensus is that he qb talk is just a way to get him on campus. No one has any intention of playing him primarily at QB.I'm not sure i believe this about Oregon since Bellotti and Kelly are usually very much on the up and up with kids.Florida,i could completely see using it as a tool. Not saying it's wrong but Urban will do anything to get a kid. He's a first class salesman(not a bad thing imo).

I think he ends up at Florida. It's just been that kind of recruiting year.

I think he wants to go to Florida but I don't think Urban is going to extend an offer because then he probably loses Mack Brown.

Na, he has an offer. Mack Brown will have to get over it.

Florida is probably going to end up with 3 of the top 4 players from California, which is absurd and a death knell for USC

I honestly don't think anyone expected for as to recruit this well out of Cali. It's insane, and it's only laying the ground work, and creating contacts out west.

I just caught news that USC has lost him, he apparently isn't that fond of Kiffin.

I give you guys staff great credit for the work they've done in CA but i hope you guys don't expect it to become a normal occurence. This was a crazy year for CA prospects that were willing to leave the west coast and guys with ties to Florida. If you look at the top guys in CA next year and there are some great ones, they are all USC or UCLA bound.I have no doubt that you guys will have an impact out there because you have a great recruiting staff but it won't be like this year very often.

Well they said on the Oregon board that UF wanted him at QB too. What's the story on that?

Baxter, LaMichael James, and Lache in the same backfield? That would be frightening

He'll play a wildcat position if we land him, he wont have one set position. He'll play in the slot, in the backfield, line up at WR, and get a few snaps at QB. Percy type use.

WIth that said, word has it that Baxter looked bored for most of his visit at Eugene. A few Ducks claim he'll end up in Gainesville. Regardless of where he lands, I doubt he's a Trojan.
