re: Did Miles rip Kiel?

I am proud of Miles calling Keil, Davis and Collins out.
The recruiting gamesmanship on the part of these kids has to end.
ESPN has made the whole process a joke.
Major college recruiting is an expensive process with million dollar budgets along with huge investments of time for coaches in their business ans personal lives.
Now some of these kids think it's cool to jerk a coach and a program around.
When a kid really has a change of heart, he should be a man and let everyone know well ahead of time and not waste resources that could be used to help another kid get into college.
A early signing period is needed now.

Not a rip!!
A question of heart and integrity
IMO there's gotta be more to the Kiel saga.

Hanagriff and Ott are bashing Les for the comments right now
Ponamsky defending him, shocker

Such as? Public stoning?
Kids flat-out have the right to choose where they want to go.
I hope this was out of character for Miles, b/c he certainly shouldn't make a habit of publicly calling out kids that don't choose LSU or change their mind after a tough loss.

Sorry, but if you're not a Tiger, you're Tiger bait.

he is in the big world now, making big boy decisions in the public eye, he should be held accountable. Unto whom much is given, shall much be required. He and Jimmy Clausen should hang out; they'd get along fine.

The kid deserved it and should be humiliated by his actions! Time to move on.

If Miles is able to question a kids heart or desire to lead because he switched from LSU to ND, then Miles is fair game for ridicule in his game plan execution and handling of QB's for the BCS Championship. IMO, this game had an effect on recruiting.

Damn dude, I couldn't put it any better. Considering these young punks getting a thrill out of yanking a university and fan base around we should go to early signing date and end all this shite! Eaither you want to play there or not. I can see some in lower programs objecting wanting more time to flip a kid.

of course he is, and that has not been lacking.
goes back to, "...unto whom much is given, of him shall much be required."

Hey Burke 985, why don't you say "end of story" at least one more I've, douche?

Time. I'll get it eventually.

Some people see this a classless and on the surface maybe it does. But look deeper. Kiel and his family were playing LSU, and our dedication to his committment led to a fine recruit (Miller) to not have be able to enroll in the original school of his choice. There was a lot of collateral damage, and my guess is Miles was pretty fried about it because it affected another kid.
These kids want to yank everyone's chains because they can. They have no qualms about getting the attention. They've wasted the athletic department's money (and yours) just to play footsie with the press.
Miles didn't do this to Devall, right? Because DD he handled his recruitment like a responsible person.
I have absolutely no qualms about what he said. Maybe one day these kids will begin to realize enough is enough, if enough coaches begin to call them out.

Yeah! If we had early signing, QBs wouldn't be able to change their mind after the coach horribly mishandles the QB situation in the NC game.
Its nuts to think that a kid should be anything but selfish in picking a college. It's not an easy choice to get out of, and who else has their best interests in mind? The coaches? The man-child fans with no perspective?

to any concerned, this has now become another ugly Yahoo headline... that's 4 so far this recruiting season
1) LC video from the announcement
2) Gunner Kiel dumps LSU
3) 300lb QB chooses school
4) Miles rips recruit for not joining LSU
If anyone has it out for ESPN, really take a look at Yahoo Sports... they've definitely got a negative eye for tiger news good or bad and love to blow it up to the front page

If Les would have acted like an 18 year old , he would have taken a trip to Indiana and BEAT the CRAP out of MR. Kiel ! Mr. Kiel grow a pair of BALLS! To hang LSU out until the last minute, and cost LSU another recruit shows a lack of CLASS from the Kiel family! Les should be pissed and send a message to future recruits and PARENTS!
