Shep was one of the highest rated recruits in the country. Like top 10 overall. #1 at his position, even though most knew he'd never play that position. He was (I think) the number 1 athlete.

This isn't quite the same, but I get what you're saying. But a guy like Shep could've been a WR, a QB, a RB, a DB, several different positions. Liggins is either a QB, or he's a DL. We don't need DL. He isn't going to replace the DL we have, or even the ones we are recruiting. I guess I feel like, if you're gonna get a guy like that, it would be because you have a need at his secondary position. We don't.

If he doesn't play QB here then I don't want him. Why would we have to resort to turning a 3* QB into a DE? Can we not just recruit a player who plays DE primarily in high school?

Because LSU's staff has more access to better information than you.

He could play TE or even RB.

Consider this, didn't he camp at LSU? I've learned that our coaches are great at camp evaluations.

I for one don't want Liggins as a QB at LSU. Let Mett have his 2 years as starter then Rivers/Randall.. I feel like if he does committ we give him a chance at QB but then direct him to other positions. He has a perfect build for a TE, especially if he runs a legit 4.6 forty!

The one reason I'm against having Liggins is because I don't want another QB controversy!

Shea Dixon @Sheadixon
Jeremy Liggins, mom and grandma have left Baton Rouge after two days on the #LSU campus. No commitment, but the Tigers making a move up.

Looks like we are in good position.

I agree, but again...why recruit him at those positions if we have Dillon as TE and a stable full of RBs. Again, that's my point...we don't have a need at the other positions he could play.

Either QB or nothing, IMO. And yes...it's just my opinion.

Isn't Dillion Gordon in danger of not qualifying? Or is that Thomas?

Either way one of our TEs may not qualify.

we can always use big, fast guys to try out on teh DL

and he could play TE, too

We don't know how good his hands are at this point. He could be another Russel Shepard.

the fact that brick was on him all weekend tells me where LSU believes his future is.

if brick can convince a guy with SEC QB offers to commit as a DL recruit then brick just blew a load all over the SEC in terms of recruiting

Because it is not like we have zero committed right now.
