He must run about a 5.0 in the 40.

No one with a 5.0 has run an 80+ yard touchdown in the SEC in 50 years.

exactly. The stupidity or hate or whatever for a kid is just ridiculous

There was a thread a couple weeks ago about what QB you's want at LSU. I picked Thomas, didn't even know he was a LSU commit at the time.

ESPN made it sound like LSU wanted to move him to something other than a QB so he decided to go elsewhere.

Watching him last night, just not sure if he could survive the SEC weekly. Not as big as I thought but certainly has skills. Easy to say yea should have taken him over JJ now but I doubt there was much hand-wringing at the time

Don't know about that, Pac 10 blows. How is Masoli working out for Ole Miss?
Pac 10 does not blow. Masoli is very good. Ole Miss has some terrible receivers, and a so-so O-Line. I think Darron Thomas would be successful at LSU.

There was on here atleast. Only River Parish supporters were enthused about JJ. Most said he was a project with horrible mechanics. Looks like 3 years later, he's exactly the same.

I said at the time and have said for the last two years that JJ was intended to be a roster body, staff never expected to have to play him until maybe a RS Jr year but they had to do what they had to do so roll with it

LSU didn't offer him as a QB, Oregon did.

Why? LSU has a better version of him and he touches the ball 5 times a game

1st, Thomas wasn't going to be a qb at LSU.

2nd, I never expected Jefferson to be a starting QB at LSU. He had a big arm, but I always thought he was simply a project that was taken to secure Tim Molten. Never expected anything more. At the time, I think we were all thinking that RP would start for two years, then Lee would step in as a Jr., then we'd find another QB along the way.

Was Molton that highly thought of that we needed to offer his QB to get him here?

I figured the staff that Daron Thomas and JJ were equals and stopped recruiting DT when JJ came on strong his senior year ... of 2 equals, take the local guy.

JJ can run but he's not a runner. I kind of liken him to JR in that regard ... good straight line speed but no shake and bake.

JR was a much better runner than JJ

JJ is faster than JR though

Is that why the Pac 10 has produced some of the best QBs in the NFL?

you can say DT would win the Heisman at LSU, and I could say that he would get obliterated in the SEC.

Thomas is clearly a better passer and a better runner than JJ.

Shep doesn't have Thomas' arm.
