Been monitoring this one for a little while closely.
From what I’ve been told South Carolina is making this very very interesting.
Darius Gray would be their highest ranked recruit this cycle if they were to land him and therefore they are making him feel like a priority.
Through all of this South Carolina push, sources have remained confident LSU still lands him this coming scheduled commitment
So basically all in all South Carolina is coming hard but for now LSU is still confident. Just a bit more interesting now.

They were in playoff talks later in the season than LSU was. The program may be mid, but I've always been a believer in Beamer.

Whoever recruits OL at SC is a beast. They've landed some monsters there the past couple of years. Relationships still matter to some kids and the money isnt that different. 2 heavyweight position recruiters battling it out. VA is far closer to South Carolina than Louisiana.

I guarantee you LSU will win or come close to another National Championship before South Carolina ever comes close. I’m not sure if South Carolina has ever been in the conversation of possible national championship contenders before or during the season. Maybe one or two of Spurriors years there?
South Carolina is not a bad football program by any means, but they have always been a consistent 6,7,8 win team other than the Spurrior years. If Gray cares anything about possibly making the playoffs and winning a championship, he will choose LSU.

and USL was in playoffs talks before also. Doesn't mean they will ever make it

Insiders are saying to not be surprised if he chooses South Carolina. Apparently the distance is becoming too big to overcome.
