I somewhat disagree. If both Foster and Chase want in and it's down to these two guys, I think you take Chase.
ETA: Per Speigs, Foucha and Keys no longer visiting this weekend.

Patrick Surtain (CB, 6-2, 183, Plantation, Fla.)
Mario Goodrich (CB, 6-2, 180, Lee’s Summit, Mo.)
JaMarr Chase (WR, 6-2, 195, Rummel High)
James Foster (QB, 6-3, 188, Montgomery, Ala.)
Lawrence Keys (WR, 5-11, 170, McDonough 35) Not Visiting Anymore
Joseph Foucha (S, 6-0, 190, McDonough 35) Not Visiting Anymore

Thoughts on these visitors and how things might finish: Recent NFL declarations from Donté Jackson and Kevin Toliver make cornerback a pretty significant position of need in this recruiting class. For that reason, and since LSU did not sign any CBs in the early period, I believe LSU would love to land Surtain and Goodrich. If this happens, the question becomes who would take the final spot. My guess is that if quarterback Foster wants in, LSU takes him. If he doesn’t, then I’d expect it to be another receiver with Chase being option No. 1 and Keys being option No. 2. As for Foucha, I suspect he’s a backup at safety should something unexpected go awry with Joseph before he signs in February.

Absolutely. Of course I want QB in this class. But we can't deny Chase if he wants to be a part of this team. That would be foolish.

The three spots are gonna be Surtain, Chase, Foster/Goodrich

My thoughts as well. Especially if the offense is truly going to go in this direction:
I know saying and doing are two different things but we do seem to be loaded more talent-wise at Receiver than at Running Back and if Brennan wins the job he has a quick enough release to unload some short passes in a spread offense.
quote:
Speaking a little more to the direction we’ll see this offense going in, Ensminger said the wide receiver position is the strength of this year’s offense and he’s going to take advantage of that. “We have depth there (at wide receiver) that we haven’t had in a couple of years. I think we have to put 3-4 receivers on the field, we have to be an RPO (run-pass-option) team… We have to do some no-huddle. That’s the direction we’re going… We can be in three-wide sets and still be physical and run off of it.”

I think the three spots are going to be Surtain, Chase, Goodrich. With Foster being the preferred next man up if one of those 3 don't work out. With two very young scholarship QB's on roster I can see the staff being comfortable with not taking a QB this year.

You take Surtain and Chase definitely (100%)
If Foster wants in you have to make a decision.
The only way I see Foster in over Goodrich is if they think Kelvin Joseph can play CB in the SEC if needed. Then they may go the Surtain, Chase, Foster route.
But if I were a betting man Id go with Surtain, Chase, and Goodrich as my final 3. Foster has been showing a lot more love to other school besides LSU.

Shea is reluctant to enter in his CB picks unless he thinks it is a sure thing. Once his goes in it usually means it is a done deal.

I think the lesson learned here is to commit or sign earlier. If you're a Surtain, you can hold out. These other guys had best pull the trigger if they wanna be tigers. I think Foster will be the odd man out because of his uncertainty & hesitation.

I honestly think they have already turned their attention to the 2019 QBs. I expect a huge push for Grant Gunnell.

thanks, i thought it was Sonny who took that approach

From what I have seen. Sonny is quick to pull the trigger and Shea is a little more conservative.

We are going to end up with a damn good class once again in a down year in state for our expectations. Next year O is gonna absolutely murder it in state...watch.

This^^^^
Surtain and Chase are in, no question about it.

If we finish with Surtain, Foster and Chase, that'll be a nice finish.

Yeah, gotta admit I'm torn on the Goodrich/Foster part. I think Goodrich likely gives immediate impact and Foster is an unknown, but he could be the higher pay off long run due to position.

Wrong shite face we need another qb, so he is right if Foster wants in he’s got it.

If only we weren't taking a one year kicker who can't when enroll early.
