I can appreciate that brother, Travis and Daniels are similar in terms of talent and that is quite the important position. I just anticipate a mix of another off-season of Kelly’s development and LSU’s talent to takeover with Perkins, Smith, and Wingo. Not to mention no Verse and another year of super talented Campbell and Jones. Though Johnny Wilson will be a problem for everyone next year. There’s good reason this will be a top ten showdown to start off the season, but LSU will win this one.

It wouldn’t hurt if verse, Fabian Lovett, and the safety to declare

The whiffs across the board at addressing DB are inexcusable. Kelly and co have got to do a better job. Pointing that out is not “melting” or being “negative”.

Norvell is doing what Kelly should be doing in the portal right now.

Huh? Didn't we sign Harris and Alexander out of the portal? Also we have a few more coming in as freshmen. How do you define whiffs across the board?

We are currently #2 in portal rankings just behind fsu this year and in 22 we were #3 and FSU was 11. Not to mention we are about 12 spots above fsu in recruiting this year.

Your response seems like a bit of an overreaction of the "gap" between what Kelly and Norvell are doing in terms of recruiting the portal and overall recruiting.

Harris and alexander are your corners

Looking that way. And it scares the shite out of me.

You’re 1 off the field fiasco away from Harris from starting a true freshman. Or maybe Banks.

Then we’ve seen how FCS corners translate to the SEC the past three years. Hopefully Alexander will be better than Richardson and the Nichols St guy. But it’s still Southeastern to Southeastern Conference.

Looks like they want brooks at safety qnd not nickel

I think so too. For communication purposes.

I still think you need a 3rd proven corner

Imo, 100%. It’s a must. You just can’t feel comfortable with Banks, Alexander, Welch and Harris. Too much uncertainty.

another proven free safety who can cover.

I’m hoping this is Sage Ryan. And if I squint just enough I can see it working out.

Norvell is going into year 4 and still relying on the portal. I’d prefer to not be like him.

So if we brought in 10 DBs instead of 8 would you feel better? Or do we need to just get the guys you think we need? If you could get the right guys locked up for us that would be great. If you did that, we could relax and not be scared stiff from your fear mongering. You’ve got me convinced, this staff is just whiffing and we are fricked! What are we going to do??? Have you contacted anyone on the staff? I’m thinking the organization needs your help and it needs it quickly. We cannot whiff on a player we want next year so we need you on the recruiting staff. Please make sure you let them know you have the “it” factor when it comes to not whiffing and get that job! I don’t want to be scared no more!

Bro. It’s a message board. Made for discussion.

Why are you on here if you don’t want to discuss LSU recruiting?

I agree. They def want a 3rd proven corner. I think they were going to take cypress and ricks. That was clear.

Hopefully another top proven corner pops. Brooks isn't a true free safety but he played admirably.

CB recruiting is lacking.

We whiffed on Austin and Ricks, and couldn't land a visit from Cypress.

its not important who you miss, on it is about who you get. We got toviano and hunter two 5 star type athletes at that position plus who we already have on campus. Cant expect too much more than that.

Swell, well logical fans trust the winningest active coach in college football that has revived the largest brand in college sports from a sea of mediocrity to a BCS Championship and two playoff appearances not to mention giving LSU new life and building toward something special. Kelly brought in a five star, multiple four stars, Alexander, who was coveted and offered by USC as well as other high end programs, and then some. Norvell is going in his make or break season. Please don’t compare the two, even in a specific circumstance.

Why do you guys have a narrative they whiffed in DB recruiting? They brought in 3 S and 3 CBs in the HS recruiting class. 1 of which was basically a 5*. They knew ahead of time Austin and Ricks were not coming here so they prepared for it. How? By getting the best CB in the portal talent wise and another that was highly recruited by many major universities thinking he's a potential high end player. They did not whiff on DBs. Why do you idiots keep ignoring they got Harris and Alexander here and aren't done in the portal yet? Alexander might be a concern he can jump to the next level but a lot of big universities scouted him and thought he could easily make the jump graded as a potential NFL player.

FSU is relying on the portal solely. Go compare their HS class to our class and then look at the portal they're not really much far ahead of us even in the portal. LSU is in much better position than the majority of universities. They're dominating the HS recruiting and the portal. That's how you build championships. FSU is built for success 1 year at a time because they don't do a good job with the HS ranks. LSU is setup for consecutive success moving forward.

We didn’t wiff on a player that only vaguely considered us. As for Ricks and others you can’t win them all.

I personally think the current ones on the roster will improve and a couple will be outstanding. With the transfers and recruits we are in good shape.
