Crawford’s Decision Date??

Does anyone have an update on when Crawford will announce? I really like Dumervil but think he looks better on the right side as of now (know with tutelage he could be LT). Having Crawford could give us more options. Thanks!

Name checks out. Dumervil is a left tackle.

In fairness, Dumervil plays RT on his high school team.
It’s rare to have a RT be so highly recruited but his high school is loaded with talent.

That is a very fair statement and he just needs to get a little quicker with his drop step and gain that upper body strength that all young people are still developing. He is a monster run blocking and I also like Martinez.
Now does anyone have any info on Crawford or will all still waiting on his grades and test scores?

He’s right handed. But good catch though in case he was.
Didn’t think about that. Had to look it up.

Dumervil was flip flopped between. LT and RT.
Martinez moved a lot as well from side to side.

What makes you say that smash?

Whenever, or if ever, we allow him to commit. If we think he will qualify he will be a Tiger. He may not sign in Feb if we don't. May wait it out and if he comes through academically then he will sign in the summer. That way we don't risk the spot.

As it stands now with scores from the Dec ACT he's qualified but there's very little margin. Not enough margin.
So lsufanva is right, because of that minimal margin he will have to wait for two things:
1) either maintain his GPA or, hopefully, improve it through the remainder of the year. There's not much opportunity here. But since we had to wait till Dec 26th to get most recent ACT scores, the early signing period was out. So now he has to wait anyway, and that gives an opportunity to improve on the GPA for bigger margin.
2) Take the Feb ACT. Remember, you can use your highest score from each section so there is no risk in taking it again. Since have to wait on 2nd signing period, he takes that one also as hoping to increase his sliding GPA vs. ACT margin. Scores aren't available till after beginning of 2nd period. So we'll hear from him in late Feb, not the 2nd Wed in Feb.
The worry with the 'barely qualified' is that he'll get though the NCAA clearinghouse (which he has scores for if GPA doesn't drop) but then be held up by the SEC. We've seen that one several times before, Valentine being the most recent but not alone. If the margin doesn't improve by improved ACT scores and/or GPA improvement, we might not take the risk.
He is a grade risk, but is a qualifier at this time.
ETA for poster immediately below: the lack of margin on sliding scale is mainly due to GPA in core classes.

Can anyone tell us what his academic issue actually is; grades, ACT score, or core class issues?
I have family ties in Carthage and we have asked several Carthage fans about grade issues, and the Carthage people we have talked to are clueless about what the issue may be. BTW say he is a great kid and teammate.

That pretty much sums it up and leaves very little questions. Thank you for such an involved answer and here’s to him being in this class!
