Let’s see how Corey recruits and coaches this cycle.

I believe LSU signed him to a 1 year deal ?

Make a quick decision based on recruiting and coaching results…. Plow forward with him or get the hottest young cb coach u can find !!!!!!!

I have no doubt the DBs will be better coached, but the DB position will still be a weakness this season. Hopefully some youngsters surprise us

You really think CR has final say on who we offer and how much NIL they get?

So you think they are just giving all of the NIL money to the offensive staff and none to the defensive staff?

Don't judge a position coach on recruiting alone, especially in this climate where cash is king... if we see improvement from our secondary this year then he's a good hire IMO

He was hired to recruit not coach them up. That was never his strength.

While everyone knows that NIL plays a part in recruiting at every position, it's not like there are just four or five schools that are signing and developing all the really good defensive backs in the country.

Certainly it's Raymond's job to go after the top corners and safeties, but it's also his job to recruit and develop guys who are talented, but aren't the most hotly recruited players in the country.

That's where his value will show...or won't. We hope he can sign 5* and 4* players, but can he sign other talented players and develop them?

Right? I can’t name any DBs in the NFL that Raymond coached. Not a single one

Hey guy…. I know CR doesn’t have final say on NIL offered …
but he STILL needs to land recruits and coach.

If you don’t produce… you’re out and replaced.

Why do yall pretend to be stupid? How hard is it to understand the diva positions will also be divas when it's time for money too? How many OL do you know act like WRs and CBs? How much do they get in trouble compared to those positions? You know damn well Bryce Underwood got way bigger offers elsewhere considering what Nico got, what Rashada was promised from Florida, that they reneged on, and what Dante Moore got. He's not tempted because he understands the bigger goal. The offensive line also understands. Harlem Berry also understands. Berry has never come off as a huge NIL guy. Perkins is not the highest paid player on the roster, yet he is still here. They even said he forgets to pick up his check sometimes. Daniels didn't make anywhere close to a million from LSU his last season here (I don't even know if it was 500k). Will Campbell is maxing out at LSU's program at 600k, if im not mistaken Emery is around 500k. They didn't start with that. LSU has three 4 star QBs and the Vanderbilt transfer could have gone to several schools. We are paying 4 talented QBs at one time, 2 of the backups could start on a few teams in the SEC right now. None left.

The kids not swayed by a quick bag have the mentality to build LSU into a powerhouse. Yall idiots desperately want the NIL junkies. Those guys will leave in the portal immediately if they aren't satisfied or are offered more. Because the only attachment to your school is money.

I know 100% that if a guy commits to LSU and stays all the way through, it's because he has a bigger goal than quick NIL money. LSU will play the game only to a certain extent. We were rumored to have the highest bag for Kade, but he stayed home to play for Texas. Kade is not a big bag level player so even a bigger bag offer than Texas isn't crazy for LSU to do. However in general for any schools, if you bribe with money as your leading offer, you will bring in guys that won't really improve you program.

I have yet to see the money thing work out long term.

Never his strength? Are some of you even LSU fans?

Donte Jackson was an athlete who was a track star speedy guy who mostly played WR. Greedy Williams? What was he projected as coming out of high school? What did his offer list look like? How about Flott? How about Jalen Mills? How about Jalen Collins? How about Rashard Robinson?

Saban won how many titles at Bama? Once again, NIL didn't start the throwing around of money. Its been around for decades.

I do agree though. We've got a model similar to UGA. We'll pay but the big money comes once on campus and you earn it. But make no mistake, we are not behind in bidding. We just have a cap that fluctuates based on the kid. We don't overreach.
