yes i do. what part do you disagree with? does Mett magically become the QB savior this new upcoming season because he watched and learned from our senior qb JJ. according to Les if a guy can come in and demonstrate he can compete he can play as a freshman. Mett spent year as JUCO Qb who took his team to thier NC. He isn't a 17 yr fresh out of high school. So why not give him some game time experience and also give the WR a reasonably expectation of actually getting a chance to catch a pass.

Sounds like a fantastic idea...
The problem of course is that even if getting Mett playing time this season to get him ready for next was in Miles plan for this year, he would not have been able to execute it this year.
Why?
Because our starting QB got suspended 2 weeks before the opener.
If there was a plan to get Mett playing time then Miles would have had to make Mett the #2 QB from the start. #3 QBs don't play in games and don't take meaningful practice snaps during the season.
That would mean based on camp that JJ would be #1 and JL would be number 3.
Once JJ got suspended that would have been impossible. You would have to start the experienced JL against Oregon. After he played well you would have to keep playing him. After JJ came back you can't put your #1 guy (there was a competition and he won it) at #3 for the season. So now you are stuck and Mett's not getting in.
This is not to say that this is what happened. Just pointing out that the IDEA that Mett could have gotten meaningful playing time this season given the details of the season regarding the QBs made that impossible.

maybe because mett didn't have 3+ years with our playbook.
Yeah I know but Kragthrope was new and, well alot of plays this year reminded me of the last 3 yrs. Mett will know the playbook, and what plays to audible to for pass protection, etc....
He will be ready this year.

The short answer is that with our tough early schedule, playing Mett over Lee would have been riskier and could have cost us a game early and a shot at the NC...even if we would have eventually ended up in a much better spot at QB.

LSU actually had good QB play for the majority of the season. Lets not act like the production that we got at QB in the BCS game is the same we got the entire year.
