re: Connor Mitch QB will visit LSU

Looks like he has good pocket awareness and finds receivers well(even though they aren't his primary). One thing thing that struck me is the variety of throws he made to get the ball in there. His arm looked strong on some throws but weak on others.

I live very near both Connor and his school. I went to most of the home games for Wakefield. All I can say is Connor is a great QB and the passing attack Offense of Wakefield HS was very good. Scores were rarely under 50 points this season. Most of the games were boring because the scores were so lopsided. The games they lost was because Wakefield's defense had a lot to be desired. He had a couple of favorite receivers and went to them often. On the flip side, the schools here don't have very good defenses so it would be interesting to see how he performs under real pressure. I think he will be OK because I saw good ball sense and he has a quick release.

Good first post. Also, is he coming here?

Still a toss up, we are in his top 3 choices. Cross your fingers. He is the youngest of three boys in his family, all college football players. His dad also played (for Syracuse back in the early 70's).

Still think USCe has the edge due to proximity. But damn, this is the exact type of quarterback we have to land in this class. This is the single most important area of recruiting for LSU this year. DE and DT second.

honestly, i think:
1. his footwork is a little sloppy
2. he plays in a spread offense that allows the qb to shine.. way different than ours
3. most of his plays are to his 6'3" 200lb receiver who is currently committed to UNC..
i'd much rather have cooper bateman

Likely a tough pull from AU, seemed to like Auburn and Florida, liked Bama as well, but we are pretty much locked in on Cooper Bateman gonna commit to us soon so once CB does that, the dominoes will fall with some of these kids

Just giving you the honest truth about the situation

Not as good as Barkleys was it is actually harder to tell since he is primarily a shotgun QB

June is a still close to 4 weeks away. Don't sleep on his current leader holding Bama off. His comments pretty much say that Bama has to blow him away in order to pass his leader(which i think is Utah). 1st visit didn't do it and no reason to think a 2nd will be any different. Regardless LSU isn't getting him and our fans might as well move on.
We'll battle for Mitch until the end but if Olsen commits to Miami as expected i think that makes USCe turn up the heat and get Mitch. If Olsen shocks people and picks USCe then we'll get Mitch if we want him. It's all in how the dominoes fall.

Am I the only one contented with Stephen Rivers?

quote:24/7 article this morning doesn't even mention Utah. Says his five finalists are Bama, LSU, Florida, Auburn and Washington. He is visiting Bama again with his dad and coach in June and will make a decision this summer. Just from reading between the lines of his comments, sounds to me like they have an edge.

I just think Mitch moves very well in the pocket while keeping his eyes down field. Much better than almost every other high school QB in this regard.

So he can't get hurt? Struggle? Need at least one QB in every class. Lack of QB depth hurt us the last 4 years and has really killed Texas.

I'm not content with him at all fwiw.
