Pete Jenkins alluded to Lindsey being a much better technical coach than Cain. I'll take Pete's word.
It may take a cycle to re-establish relationships and continuity, but if Lindsey is able to coach up the players we have, the elite players will come.

It doesn't work that way. He has to show he's an elite recruiter to recruit elite talent. There isn't this magical correlation to coaching technique and recruiting elite talent. A small handful can do both, but they end up in the NFL (like Cain, Ryan Nielsen, etc.)

Things are sounding good for an August commitment date. I agree that seems to be a great sign for LSU.

Maybe so, but Cain did not get a single DT commit his one season here. That's why Kelly had to hit the portal for DTs. He did get some stud edge rushers like Womack and Howard.
Cain was named DL coach at LSU in Jan of 22 and Lindsey got the job in May this season. That put him way behind recruiting and coaching so I think we'll have to wait and see how he does.

I disagree. Now that Lindsey is in a higher profile program like LSU, if he can coach his reputation and LSU's profile and resources will make recruiting easier. The outlier would be great technical coaches that don't like to recruit. I haven't seen anything that indicates this as the case with Lindsey.

I believe they’re referring to when Caden tweeted that he was changing his commitment date and then Simmons responded to it with “Aug. 1”
This was days ago when they were still in BR.

The kid is like 17 and doesn’t have a PR staff. From Shea and Billy, he seems like a good kid that has lived through years of attention at this point and is probably tiring of it. Maybe give him a break and dont take the social media activity of a 17 year old so seriously?

Word through the grapevine is that he’s setting a commitment date within the week. Apparently the family is over the recruiting process and wants to shut it down. Committing this shortly after the Bayou Splash looks promising.
