From Coach O radio show this week. SOLID GOLD right there. THAT is what all recruits want to see & hear.

It’s all that matters. Bit of a shame but true.

When you have a bunch of future NFL players on your roster you tend to win a lot of games

Everyone goes to college to develop the skills needed to begin your professional career. Scientists, engineers, writers, and football players. It’s not a shame, it’s the goal.

Not quite sure I would be uncomfortable with this. Almost all the players we recruit imagine that they might have a career in the League. So it's not surprising that they would look more closely at a university that can help them reach their career goal. After all, academic departments in any university always tout the success rates of graduates in their chosen fields as a recruiting tool. Why should it be any different in recruiting elite athletes?

This is why the media dept at LSU is so crucial. They make sure these nfl highlights and ncaa/sec awards get posted and blasted out on Twitter, IG, etc directly to the recruits with a connective link to LSU.

Lmao you wouldn’t think it was a shame if this was you or one of your loved ones. Youd want to give them/yourself the best shot at making millions as possible. Tbh, any kid who isn’t heavily weighing which program is most equipped to get them to the pros is doing themselves a massive disservice.

Would you tell a brilliant pianist it’s a shame that they want to go to Juilliard? Would you tell a math whiz it’s a shame he wants to go to MIT? That’s some bullshite

It was a double edge sword when Miles was here... You had guys with little production at LSU become super stars in the NFL especially on the offensive side of the ball. Coach O and this staff actually allow the offensive skill guys to shine and put up numbers which will help lead to more Wins.

Of course recruiting was never O's issue. But now that he has the trophies (Natty, COY, Heisman, etc, etc, etc.) in his back pocket, he has pretty much silenced the 'negative recruiting' pitch against LSU from any other teams. Well except for: “it takes a Heisman QB & Joe Brady.” Can’t wait to find out the answer to that beginning NEXT WEEK.

I came out of the Dark Ages of LSU football. Before I got to campus in 1990, LSU for 100 years of football had NEVER had back-to-back losing seasons. While on campus the team went on to a streak of 6 consecutive losing seasons.

Now I find myself rooting for a team that has won a MINIMUM of 8 games for 20 consecutive seasons, 3 natty’s (played for a 4th), 2 undefeated regular seasons (1 FULL SEASON), a Heisman winner, and not only nearly every NFL team littered with LSU players, but TOP SHELF star players, and former LSU players now prominent members of the “talking heads” sports media. And now that team I root for is also led by a certified and registered Coonass.

Don't wake me up from my dream.

Ready for some football yet???

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

Yep. And that's a HUGE difference between this year and last year. We should see the results because it was damn sure being used against LSU.

Unfortunately the apocovirus is muting/dampening all of that and the difference isn't what it should be, through no fault of CEO's or the staff's.

Going from being negatively recruited to being immune from it is most often on display during visits. And those were taken from us this year.

Correct that it is the goal. I wanted my degree from LSU to help me get a job at a good company in the field of profession that I chose. And it worked. No shame in that! The NFL is the top of the football profession. It is the goal. LSU is selling the chance for young kids that want to make money playing football to get to the top of their profession. Redfish is just wrong.

It has been pretty remarkable this year, too. I flipped on NFL Network and they had a rookie of the week segment raving about their top 4 rookie performances for week one. Of the 4, 3 were from LSU (Clyde, Joe and Queen).
