Received Courtney crutchfield decommited from Arkansas today. Collins is aware and posted on his story something from an lsu recruiting page. No idea how to post screen shots but check it out

Landing the #1 player out of the state of Arkansas would be huge. Bussey and Reliford have to be seriously contemplating a move to LSU right now.

Wasn’t Collins all LSU about a year ago?

When we had Cain yes he was and then there was the weird period where we didn't have one and then Lindsey had his situation. LSU was close but uncertainty and all killed it.

We hard going after Collins extremely hard, and have been for awhile now.

This is absolutely an emotional gut reaction, but why would any DL recruit want to come here right now after seeing the pitiful performances and total lack of development we’ve shown the last 2 years?

Humor me and give me the pitch Matt House makes to Collins today.

Note: I hope we can land Collins and Reliford both. And this may be wishful thinking but I’d love Smith and Wingo back next year to actually develop them. How realistic that is, I have zero idea. But that would be the ideal situation.

You sell LSU being one of the best programs in the country, a powerhouse brand, and opportunity for playing time. Sprinkle in NIL and being close enough to home for his family to see him play every weekend. Also, uncertainty at Arkansas is a big deal I imagine.

And that’s all fair. I don’t disagree with that. But how would you explain the revolving door at DL coach, uncertainty about your own job and on field performance?

Little tangent too - Closing with him, Reliford, Bussey and Miller, while keeping the current commits would be a massive win.

Well I don’t think House is actually doing the sales pitch. It’s probably Jancek if I had to guess. But the DL coach is 100% fair…BUT it’s been mentioned that Jimmy Lindsey is doing some recruiting for us so that should help.

It doesn't take an overly bright person to understand how we got into this situation and that our currently DL coach had a medical emergency. What we do after the season will have a bigger impact than the situation we're currently in. But I'd bet you that Kelly and Co are being upfront with these recruits about the future of their position coach, and which direction they're looking.

Transparency is the best course IMO, and to what DBG said, if Jimmy is somehow recruiting that has to help. I just wonder how many holdovers we’ll have if we change coordinators. Like does a new coordinator get to bring in his own people? Or does Kelly tell him he has to keep a couple a la the Corey Raymond situations?

A concern I’ll always have with our situation right now is optics/comparisons too. If I’m Collins and I start looking again at say LSU, Bama, Georgia - the consistency and certainty there is an easy selling point for them.
