I might have missed something, but did Miles ever have a coaching job in the state of Alabama where he would already have a working relationship with some of the coaches? I wouldn't expect Saban to up and forget his former contacts.

I can only think of a handful and with the exception of Jamarcus Russell I can't think of any being the creme dela creme. I know there's Rivers and Kwon but as I recall Kwon got hurt the previous season to signing with LSU and Rivers wasn't that highly recruited. I'm obviously looking for Landon C., CRob type comparisons. I don't recall those types of defections from Alabama. Their players appear to be loyal to their home state.

Are you kidding me? I don't hardly ever get on recruiting board but it's been discussed 8 billion times

So you hardly ever get on the recruiting board yet you know it's been discussed 8 BILLION times? Since you have seen 8 billion discussions perhaps you could enlighten me as to the original question and name some names.

I can't believe that someone would poison a bunch of trees over a football game, world is crazy.

Oh and Bakari Guice got paid to bring Robinson to Alabama, so this isn't some Lilly white deal.

As long as we get 8,9 or ten of the top talent in La., we are good

Dude I live in the state of Alabama and am surrounded by Bama fans. From tea bagging to poisoning trees there's can't be a more obsessive scary fan base. So don't getting all pious judging Tiger fans.

With Auburm and Alabana in bama. kids arent keaving that state. we have no one ekse, so if they dont want to go to lsu, they have to look oos fir a big time program.

as small as LA is....you have, LSU, all the texas schools, OU, ND, USC, tosu, michigan, Aub, Bana, UGA, Arkansas, the miss schools and the florida schools trying to get at our prospects. We have to fend off every top prigram in the country. so if a kud doesnt pic LSU, he has to leave the state.

i know people think oh its easy to recruit LSU. well just cus you live in LA, doesnt mean LSU is any closer in proximity than other top programs. Bana is rt in the middke of sec country. distance will never be a factor fir them recruitung the sec states. Also, other schools only have to compete against LSU for our top prospects. Its not like us trying to pull a florida kud from UF, FSU, or da U.

Not always. Just look at the Top 15 for 2012.

3 to FSU, 1 to LSU, 1 to GT, 1 to UNC, 1 to Ole Miss, 1 to Arkansas, 4 to Bama, 3 to Auburn

LINK

More than half went out of state (8/15), and both state schools took kids lower ranked than 15 in-state.

Thats the truth. Jammis Winston was a 5star top QB, best the state has put out ever some said. Saban recruited him for 3 years. FSU hits Alabama hard.

Tennessee under Fulmer also got players from the state.

LSU rarely sees a player in Alabama they don't have two of in Louisiana.

Well, we hope Tony Brown. Given his sister is going to run track at LSU, I would think he will be a Tiger as well. I'm not sure him going to LSU will make much of a difference. Not that he is not a good football player, but LSU can't compete for NC if they don't get the top players from Louisiana every year.

Unfortunately this comparison isn't off-base.

How about Kwon Alexandet and Andy Dodd? Dumbshit

Kwon was not offered by Bama due to his knee injury. Since Saban arrived at Bama, LSU has not taken one recruit that Bama wanted.
Dodd was not recruited by Bama.

If any of our coaches invested time in recruiting Bama, they would be fired in a matter of years. It would be akin to investing your time in Missouri, Arkansas or Iowa.

I want our guys in TEXAS, parts of Florida, Ga, La. Anywhere else is strictly lagniappe.
