Granted, I haven't seen the kid kick but he's the back up on his HS team. However, he apparently holds a committable offer and is currently a part of this class. I don't see the need with how good Delahoussaye has been.
Are there any rumors that he may not make it into this class or at all? Seems like there are still some big names left and maybe some smaller names that could fill some needs.

I'm not ragging on the kid at all I just don't see how we have room for him

Maybe he's a top secret superstar punter? Lord knows we need one.

well the coaches knew when they offered him that this was a year for a bumper crop for recruiting so maybe they want him just that bad. He was offered early so idk

do you really think our coaches would wait this late to tell a kid that has been committed this long to grey shirt or walk on? i dont think so.

How do we know that such a discussion/agreement has not already occurred?

I know people are skeptical of my opinion, but I think he's being taken strictly as a kickoff guy anyway.

There was someone on this board or another one that saw him at the LSU kicking camp and said he was far and away the best one there. I don't know why he wouldn't be starting on his HS if that were the case. He seems to be another KO specialist, but we've got one of those on scholarship for the next couple years already and a reliable FG/XP guy.
I don't want to rag on the kid, as I would have questioned taking the commitment of any kicker in this class, not specifically him.

Where do Delahoussaye's kickoffs land?

If the coaches want him in this class, I am all for him joining the team. I am curious though how the other players on his team, especially the 1st team kicker, have reacted to his offer. I am sure some are really jealous of him.

Hairston will be a senior next year. Redshirt (Greyshirt) this guy and we should be good for 4 more years...

Since Hairston is the kickoff guy ...

My personal opinion is that his long approach makes him a risk to get kicks blocked.

For some reason, I thought he was only going to be a junior.
