Losing a top ten/top five national recruit to a divisional rival doesn't make you stronger, it makes your rival stronger. Again, any rational human with functioning nuerons and a semblance of objectivity would be upset if LSU loses the top player in Louisiana to Bama in two out of three years. There is nothing good about it, if it comes to pass. Losing five star recruits to Bama is bad.

being "upset" is not a rational response, but an emotional one. Your opponent in any competition hopes you become emotional, because typically at that point you're beaten. Alabama fans have predicted that Saban would cause LSU to implode from fan pressure. It hasn't happened and shouldn't happen. Louisiana is loaded with talent, we have to expect intense pressure from top schools on top players, it's a fact of life.
