If the number 1 RB Taylor Tatum commits to OU, do you think we get Durham. I would love to get Durham because I love his breakaway speed and potential, I think Taylor is the 3-4 best back in TX and is overated.

I could see them still getting both.

Demarco Murray is a huge draw.

Plus the 3rd kid they just accepted this week. All different backs and apparently 3 has been the plan all along(conveniently). Only 1 rock in a world where offenses are running it less. But we've got 8 kids now and hopes of Durham and at least 2 more in 25, minus losses of course. The Murray obsession appears to be carrying a ton of weight. The difference perhaps, all else being mostly equal.

I'm just not understanding what Muarry is selling to these kids, Durham and Taylor are arguably the best 2 backs in TX.

Growing up, kids idolize athletes and emulate them. They wear the same jersey numbers and dream of following in their footsteps. Demarco Murray is selling “himself” and OU football to recruits. …. “Come to OU and I’ll help you achieve your dream of playing on Sundays”

That’s fine and all but there’s no proof Murray or his NFL career would help kids make it to the NFL. Being a good player =/= being a good coach

Murray has been at Oklahoma since 2020. 2 RB’s he coached were drafted and currently on NFL active rosters. In the same time span, LSU had 2 RB’s drafted. 17-18 yr old kids change their minds daily and often sign where they’ve dreamed about playing.

LSU will continue recruiting Durham and hopefully he signs with the good guys.

I can see us shutting RB down if we don’t get Durham.

We have enough.

Yeah I'm not seeing him pick us but if he does nice. If not some studs next year in 2025 class in Louisiana at the position.

LSU’s running backs have been arse since 2020 so I have no clue why you’re acting like his matching our “success” is some huge accomplishment. We had 9 drafted from 2008-2015 when our RB room was filled with elite talent. Again, there’s no evidence that he’s a particularly good RB coach. Don’t let me stop you from gassing him up for no reason though man

This would be bad news. This makes getting Berry a huge deal for us. Berry and Durham are my favorite RB wants.

Really? You can't understand what Demarco Murray is selling? The guy that had almost 5300 yards and 63 TDs from scrimmage at Oklahoma? A 3 time pro bowler and 1 time first team All Pro? The 2014 NFL rushing leader?

It's also why Tashard Choice is killing it as a RB coach now. He recruited Jahmyr Gibbs to Georgia Tech, last year got 5 star CJ Baxter to Texas, and this year has the #2 RB in the country in Jerrick Gibson, committed.

I understand that but that was best off thier phisical ability, not coaching ability. Most RB are made.

Made? Nah. They have to have natural ability. Speed, instincts, toughness. Coaching makes them better, but they got to have a lot of ability to work with.

I think coaches play a crucial part in some positions such as QB,WR, and DB. But spots like RB and DE are naturally gifted positions. Not a lot of coaching involved
