Yea Sopsher and Byron have nothing to do with one another besides the fact that one or the other should hope the other commits with them instead of the other option. Byron would be a true DE while Sopsher would be either a NT or DT playing inside as opposed to outside.
The reason he's so valuable is that he has the quickness to play either position and the power/weight to play the middle. So basically we could have 2 NTs on the field but still play as though he were a DE. Sopsher/Shelvin/Fehoko with Chassion/Phillips/Tyler/Anthony would be a nasty combo.
This doesn't even show our quality depth that we could display on passing downs. I just wish guys like Sopsher and Byron could see this, go ahead, commit to start recruiting more guys to play with them. Goes to show you how special we could be if guys like White and Greedy would stay 4 years just to get LSU back to a championship.
One or two years like that could jump start our recruiting nationwide. Sure wish the NFL would miss on these guys and somehow put them in the second round. I know that's a little selfish BUT it would almost assure LSU a championship and solve the depth issue in one year. Hey Bama somehow gets them to do it so why couldn't our guys do it? One time to change things up for LSU guys!!

He's got a long list of high profile suitors, so anything can happen, but like I said in the original post, I like us to land him. man, I hope we get this guy. this year is going to be one hell of a year if we get half the guys I want. every year seems to hinge on one or two key guys and this year is no excepton; for once I want them all.

Young isn't being pushed very hard right now.Bama has the edge for him because of that.
Like I said when committed to State,I would expect Young recruitmentfrom LSU to pick up moving forward and he did grow up a fan of the Tigers but Bama has the edge right now.State and Clemson is in there as well.
